#3942
close encounters of the third kind? That movie is full of blue.

E: It's already been guessed for the last movie but dangnamit I'll stand by it!

Eric

I believe that might be Creepshow, wherein a redneck Stephen King finds a meteor that turns him into a plant?

Ben X

Yes, well done Eric! One of Stephen King's few acting roles, in a collaboration with George A Romero.

Eric

No obvious connection between this movie and the previous one. I just happened to be watching this!

Working on a RON game!!!!!

Eric

It is neither of those! Here's a hint: there's a very clear connection between this and the last film that I posted.

Ponch

Frankenstein of the Jungle?

Ben X

Well, that was The Big Sleep. I'm guessing the connection is going to be Chandler, Hawks or Bogie, but I have a massive blind spot in this area of film. I'll go for my immediate thought which is The Maltese Falcon.

miguel

It can't be Franckenstein of The Jungle because she's having a drink, and we all know how's Franky around women who drink...And The Maltese Falcon sounds very unlikely, who the hell would hire a guy looking like that and call him Falcon? Falcon is a black dude wearing red spandex, everybody knows that.

I'm going for Tron again. It worked in Reno.

My first thought was "Double Indemnity" - because of the lighting and the femme, but I disregarded that thought because I didn't see the connection(apart from both films being noir, obviously). Never knew it was co-written by Chandler! But now the pieces of the puzzle have started to fall into place, see! I'm still not quite sure, but that's my guess. :)

Ben X

I don't remember anything like that in Double Indemnity, but then I haven't seen it for years...

Ilyich

I don't remember anything like that in Double Indemnity either, my guess is based almost solely on the lighting setup, which is, admittedly, pretty common for film noir. :)

Eric

Double Indemnity was written by Chandler, but Chandler is not the connection here. bbX1138 is correct in one of his guesses at the connection, though!

Ben X

Well, in that case I'll make my final guess at The Thing From Another World, produced (and most say ghost-directed) by Hawks.

Eric

bbX1138 is getting warmer!

The Day Earth Stood Still?

Ben X

Looks like a cowboy film, probably Hawks. I have a guess but I'm not taking it!
