This is the closest this movie ever gets to TRON:

Eric

One of the stars of TRON was in Winter Kills (not very good) with the star of this one.

Tibatonk

Not George C. Scott..?

I don't think there's a harpoon involved in The General.

But the actor does play a general in Dr. Strangelove, yes.

miguel

He's the guy "stuck" in his office with Peter Sellers (playing a soldier). I remember that he gets the phone call that nuclear Armageddon is near.
Working on a RON game!!!!!

Oh oh, the guy with the fluids. That's Sterling Hayden, isn't it? (I realise now that in my mind I'd transplanted Sellers into that role as well!) Yeah, I recognise young him now. I know he was in Johnny Guitar, but I'm pretty sure that was in colour...

Can we have more hints, please?

I'm pretty sure it's Blade Runner, but...
Working on a RON game!!!!!

The movie is neither called "Horror in a Hawaii Hamlet" nor "Shock in a South Dakota Settlement".

Snarky

Terror in a Texas Town! (I got "Terror in a ... Town" from the hint, TX from alliteration, and confirmation that such a film exists from Google)

And we have a winner!

Just as I was beginning to think I managed to break the game on my first try.

Edit: And let me add that Dalton Trumbo is in fact the screenwriter, just as Ben X guessed a few days ago.

Eric

Snarky

No connection to the last movie, because connections are stupid!

Crimson Wizard

Hmm, I was about to say "Dr. No", but something is not right here

LUniqueDan

I was totally about to say "Dr. No" too, but CW comment told me I was wrong.
"I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe. Destroyed pigeon nests on the roof of the toolshed. I watched dead mice glitter in the dark, near the rain gutter trap.
All those moments... will be lost... in time, like tears... in... rain."
