No, and hell no. :)

Last great Tarantino film I saw was Jackie Brown, apparently. Unless if you want to count each of the kill bills as half a film. Now he does cartoony gore porn? Meh.

Ben X

Well, the Grand Theft Auto movie was 1977, so this movie will be "about a decade" after that.

I have no idea, so I'll guess at King Of The Mountain even though it's only 4 years later.

I guess no one has seen it. There are enough clues to get a pretty clear answer from a search engine.

For me at least the fun of this thread is trying to recognise movies that I've actually seen from less-than-obvious shots. Looking for clues and/or receiving hints and then going to a search engine is about as fun for me as homework. Obscure movies are fine now and then, but the thread seems to have somewhat become about stumping everyone with obscure movies rather than providing a challenge with difficult shots from mostly well-known movies.

Just my two-cents of course. I'm not trying to have a whine either: It's just a forums game...But if others feel this way then maybe we can get it back on track...

Jack

As someone who's seen a lot of films, I like finding and sharing the more obscure ones, since those are usually the interesting films.

No. I believe the vesica piscis on the board there is supposed to be a football.

Additional hint: This plays a critical role in the film.

Catch Me If You Can?

I didn't reverse image search, but I found it on a search for "80s film about jukebox cars"

Jack

That's the one.

Both "racing film high school" and "racing film jukebox" will spit out this name.

This was a favourite of mine growing up. Having watched it again now, it's actually quite cleverly written.

The best copy I found is here. Lots of energy in that opening. And Loryn Locklyn too!

Thanks for the link, bud. Will watch it once I get some free time.

Yay! I haven't seen the film, but I'll have to make a point of watching it now.

I love how all of these old films are just appearing on YouTube, with the studios seemingly not caring enough to have them taken down. It's so convenient. Golden oldies Netflix.

Brainstorm is another one that's been recommended to me. Still haven't watched that one yet.

Okay, here's mine:

Brainstorm was pretty good, although I think I prefer Lawnmower Man (not as bad as they say).

Retribution?

Not turning it into a movie recommendation thread, but I think I'll agree with you once I've seen Brainstorm. Lawnmower Man is one of my top films ever, and this film was kind of described to me with "so, you've seen Lawnmower Man, right?"

Oh, and the jukebox -- when you said critical, you meant it. It's there from the opening scenes of the film.

Anyway, it's not Retribution, sorry.

Jack

Well you'll not forget Brainstorm's ending in a long time, so it's well worth seeing.

Crimson Wizard

This may sound silly.... but is it "Shaolin Soccer"?

Gurok

Not silly. That's correct! It's Shaolin Soccer. That's Zhao Wei in the still.

Okay, your turn, CW!

The way I remembered this was that I recalled there was a movie where a shy girl character has put lots of cosmetics on but looked really bad with it :).
