I love AGS! It's the best program ever if you want to make your own point and click game but I have no desire for it anymore. I do have many ideas for adventuregames but it's just...I dunno...boring like hell just to open up the program. I need a serious talking to...and a beating probably...Why...WHYYYYYY?!?!?!?! can't i find it in my heart to work with AGS anymore?!?! :D I know I tried too many ideas and kept posting them in the WIP thread in the past but at that moment I felt that I had focus for 100% but soon after, all inspiration just died...Jimmy the troublemaker 2,Farmer Barney's crisis,Camp Death etc. None of them will probably ever see the light of day and it's kind of sad that I've only been able to finish one lousy...semi-crappy game after all these years I've been a member here. You people here always have nice things to say about the stuff I'm posting in WIP or critic's lounge and I appreciate it like hell!!! Oh...What to do...what to do?

I guess it depends on what you enjoy doing.
If doing AGS scripting and making the game live doesn't do it for you, then stick with what does and try to find a partner or two that rather do that than other stuff they don't like/can and that you love and can... (nod)

I love seeing your WIPs, and am sure there are lots of ppl here waiting for the release of one of them... Maybe some can even get you on track and take care of that "boring as hell" parts... ;)
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

First of all you need to go celebrate :-D

Seriously a little break won't harm and would help organize your ideas. I will speak for myself, I've been there even though I never worked on multiple AGS projects simultaneously. If you have a writer's block then switch to something else like improving backgrounds, sprites animations or even record sounds... If you're losing inspiration in general compile your project and let someone try it out for feedback. This helped me so much before. Write down your game ideas! save them for later 8-) ...try taking it easy and play other AGS games (laugh)

I hope to release something someday...I hate myself almost for always having 5 projects going at once...I want to make rpg's and adventuregames and other stuff as well so I keep switching between them like crazy...RPG's are not smart to do on your own maybe...but it's so damn funny to do...so I've been using Clickteams products for some time now (Multimedia fusion 2 and 2,5) I hope to return to AGS sometime...and maybe find someone to work with...and not do everything on my own...coding,music,graphics and writing is a lot of work for one man (I'm not alone working like this..I mean all of us who do everything ourselves take on to much work I think) and it's easy too become discouraged sometimes

After I've finally finished my game, I might never make another one again, just because of the huge commitment of time it's taken..

Sadly I haven't properly used AGS in a while either. I think some people kind of just settle down in the community instead of making games. There's no doubt that I'd rather live without the program than the forums.

I hear that...I do want to make games...it's a wonderful hobby...butI lack the discipline to stick with one project and I hate that

aye, I've always said I'm here primarily as a fan of the games rather than as a game dev. Maybe that's just an excuse I tell myself to justify my laziness, I don't know. But there is a kind of pressure, a good reassure, that by being here and taking part in the forums, one should at least be working on something. And with all the creativity around it's impossible to avoid coming up with game ideas every so often.

Same here. I'm only here for my friends and the reason that I consider this my community my virtual/online family.

Us game makers need game players! It's great to see some old 'faces' on the forums after all these years!

Olle, I want to play Jimmy the troublemaker 2!!!
Maybe you should take a break.
And mostly maybe you should rise a team (even a duet).
We all know it: a game is so much work.
It's very hard to do everything alone without being - several times until the release - in a discouraged state.
Maybe you could try smaller project, like a MAGS for example (that worked for me).

I'm full for 2015 and 2016 and maybe even more! 8-0
Still, why not for a MAGS or a Ludum Dare. :)
(Do you remember our aborted MAGS coz of your shoulder ?! :-D)
But I'm sure you'll find someone to team up for a bigger project.
You can code, draw, anime and even compose music: you're the perfect ally! ;)

Atavismus!!!! OH...IT'S...YOU!!!!! My french cheese-smelling,baguette-crazy wineaddict nemesis :D great to see you man!!! Didn't know it was you!! haha :D
