I was websurfing, kinda on a whim, and found this lovely gem:

And the question does bring up a good point--why are there fans of cutesy cartoons that want to make dark and sad--or even gore-filled--fics of something that's supposed to be for little kids?

Granted in some stories I've been guilty of it myself (ask me and I'll share my Tiny Toons/Case Closed (JP: Detective Conan) crossover), but to make a My Little Pony fic that's grimdark or gory?  Yeesh.

Crimson Wizard

I must make a confession. I am very scared by MLP fans. I cannot understand why grown up people keep watching this, why they put those ponies on their avatars, draw them.

This instills me with fear. Real fear. No, it is not the hypocritic fear for those people's minds or maturity, or similar bullshit.

It is some kind of Lovecraftian fear. Like the fear of some dark entity, something beyond human understanding.

Stupot

This whole 'brony' thing is just another example of people only doing something because it has somehow become a 'thing'.  I don't think they're criminally insane.  Just crowd-following bandwagon-chasers after the latest internet fads and memes.

But as far as the question goes, I quite enjoy, shall we say 'adult' versions of children's shows. There's a Smurfs family orgy somewhere online but I won't link it :P

I agree! Who would do such a thing to a pony... or a cow? 8-0
(I've never forgiven Frito for this (wrong))

Shame on you, Stupot! I'm simply shocked beyond belief by you and your scandalously insatiable appetite for naked lesbian pictures of Ahsoka Tano, the ever so slightly underage heroine of The Clone Wars. That's a kid's show! Why are you even watching it? And why are you leaving your sordid search history all over my poor copy of Firefox? Leave me out of this, Stu! :=

I'm ashamed of all of you!

I'm not a religious guy but, AMEN, bruddah. Can I hear a hallelujah?

Yes. Yes I can.

TOO MUCH INFORMATION! (wtf)

DBoy, that's just Mr.Ponch when wearing his bandanna and Texan hat. All forums have a ICUMA, and Ponch is our ICUMA.
What is a ICUMA you ask?
Internal Curator of Moral Activities, it's like a secret agent of higher moral fibre than most of us.
What makes him better than any of us? Why can't YOU be a ICUMA?
Because he was trained by Pat Morita and Peter Cetera!
What does a ICUMA really do?
ICUMAs appear when moral standards are somehow broken, DBoy.

Working on a RON game!!!!!

1. I don't get fan fiction at all (I also don't get watching soap operatic anime series with highschool girls but that's another topic)
2. if you do something dark that's supposed to be for kids and funny, then that's contrast which creates comedy...though that's the general concept, I don't know why people actually do mentioned My little something...except that maybe what they lack in imagination, compensate with stupidity and fetishes
3. haven't actually watched any of MLP, but I do watch stuff like Adventure time (not religiously or anything, but it has some interesting ideas and art style), so I can understand some "for kids" stuff can offer something to adults...still there's some boundaries that, when crossed, just makes things creepy and unhealthy
I don't want the world, I just want your half
