Yeah like the topic say...I came up with this idea last night while browsing around thinking about activities. "I dare you" a little game, where one person (maybe me) will give out the first dare. could be "Swallow a raw egg" or whatever and the first one who proves with a photo/video that he/she did this gets to make the next dare. There will be no stupid dares where a person could get hurt or any illegal dares of course...If anyone have an idea to improve/organize this game feel free to tell me about it :) Soooooooo
Yay or Nay for this little game? :D

Adeel

Okay, I'm in. ;-D

>I DARE YOU TO REMOVE YOUR CPU'S COVER, TAKE A PIC OF AMD'S BEAUTY (i.e. Processor) AND SHOW US HERE.

Haha ok cool...easy enough to start with. But I must wait till tomorrow...:D

EDIT: Whoa you say the cpu cover? I have no idea what that is...Thought you meant like just opening up the computer...but I must open something else as well? In that case no way...I'll only destroy it haha :D

Let's keep the tone then, and add some safety to your precious new rig.

> I dare you this: Install the most basic version of Tetris you can find. Play it wearing a cool hat.

Ok so the rules are that anyone who does this first wins the dare and sets the next one :) I'd totally do this but I have no hats at all!!!! I must wait till I get to work on monday to have a chance for this. Nice initiative Ghost! GAME ON!!! :D

By removing cpu's cover, I meant to say that 'slide off the side sheet' or whatever you may call it: Which, on removing, shows you the insides of your cpu. Btw, I assure you, I didn't ask to 'peel out' the protective cover of your cpu in the first place. (laugh)

E: Let me rephrase that:

>I dare you to open your cpu, take a photo of amd's beauty i.e. it's processor and show us that photo, here, on this very place.

I hope that helps. :)

Mouth for war

ok i guess we have a double dare then!!! :D The photo was specifically meant for me though it seems like...I will do that! But that tetris dare from Ghost is open for everyone!

No life-threatening or illegal stuff? Pff, count me out.

Adeel

Thanks to qptain_Nemo for pointing this out to me.

By opening you cpu, I didn't mean to 'remove' your process from your cpu. I sincerely apologize for that.

Let me rephrase it (once again :-[ ):

>I dare you to remove your cpu case, take a photo of amd's beauty i.e. it's processor (without removing it from its fixed place - unless you know what you're doing ;) ) and show us that photo, here, on this very place.

"No life-threatening or illegal stuff? Pff, count me out." Haha I want to see more Jackass stuff of course but let's keep it a little less bone-breaking...for now...but if you want to do something more dare-y we can arrange something ;)

You still keep rephrasing it by saying to open the CPU (Central Processing Unit), the processor. I'm sure what you mean to say is "Open your computer case and take a picture of your CPU"

Once again, my mistake. (laugh). Actually, it's a difference of how the term is used. Here, by refering to CPU, we usually mean the computer system. Not the processor itself. But I understand that it can give people, other than my real life gathering, a wrong concept. Thank you for pointing this out to me. :)

MoW, please do as Ryan has instructed. And yes, this dare is only intended for you, as a punishment, because you were the one who brought this up. ;)

My father also calls a computer a CPU, his misnaming was breed from ignorance. Actually I've heard several older folks call it a CPU, probably because they're trying to be hip and sound knowledgable, and because of the obvious near potential of it being an acronym of sorts: ComPUter

But I assure you, it is not.

(Posting from my phone. Now lets put this thing back together...)

Next challenge: take a picture of your CPU's cup holder

There you go* :P

Before this dare, I didn't know what a computer's cup holder was and had to google it. (wtf) Also, sorry for the bad image quality but that's what I've atm. Moreover, I found an article on the very same topic. It's worth reading: Click here

No, it's definitely not because they want to sound 'hip and/or knowledgeable'. In many text books, here, you'll find the Computer being referred to as CPU. Also, it is definitely not called CPU because of it being closer to become the acronym: ComPUter. (wrong)

IIRC, back then, we were always taught that a computer is something having all three basic components: monitor, keyboard and cpu. (laugh)

I fully understand your point, though, that CPU is referred to the processor itself. Thanks for correcting me, dude! :)

*the above mentioned stunt has been performed by a computer-savvy person (who knows what he's doing, i.e, he's self-assured that he'll not break his 'cup holder'). Please don't try this at your home.  ;)

Ghost

So what's the next dare, teach an old guy a CPU is not a computer? :=

Ok Adeel..I dare you...if it's possible, to walk on the street with a dead fish in a leash and pretend it's your beloved dog (Photoproof is needed). My tired mind came up with this right now :D If it's not possible let me know and I'll think about something else (Of course anyone can do this dare if they feel they are up for it) :D

Adeel

It's not possible because of some reasons, Mouth for war:

1. As you may already know, Muslims worldwide are observing Ramadan. Being a Muslim country ( (roll) ), it's forbidden by the law here to take anything out which is edible.

2. I don't own a decent camera. My mobile camera is only 2 MP VGA one. :P

3. Dogs are usually not loved here, let alone a dead fish in a leash (laugh)

4. Nor someone will shoot me with it.

5. I might get sent to hospital for mentally unstable.

Give some other dare, maybe. I'll try to do that! ;-D
