I know of a few great soundtracks for company games (eg Age of Wonders1, Warcraft2 etc), but here is one from an indie game:

Personally, I find the theme from when you have to battle Lovecraftian sea creatures in Darkest Dungeon to be pretty great:
I absolutely adore the music in
FTL: Faster Than Light and I think the title theme is particularly lovely:
This is a big company game, and relatively old now (released in 2013), but I liked the music from "Europa Universalis IV", which is a colourful set of music pieces on its own imho.

Brandish has a kick-ass soundtrack in general, but this track is probably my favorite:

The arranged version of this track, for the PSP remake of Brandish (Brandish: The Dark Revenant, which I highly recommend!), is also very cool:

...though I dig the chiptune version best!

I am so in love with this game right now, I can barely wait for the next game "Silksong", wich will hopefully release in 2020 :)
Well, since there were old classic above, I'd post this too :)

@CrimsonWizard - The
Tyrian soundtrack is absolutely whopper! I particularly enjoy the track called "Tyrian: The Level" and it was on my workout playlist for years!
This bit of music puts me in a similar mood:
^Supercastlevania had a lot of great pieces.
I recall returning it to the shop cause I found it too scary (was 11 iirc), then taking some other game which was garbage so... got Castlevania back.

One of my favorites:
Tim Follin is a legend.
Final Fantasy games have great soundtracks. I love Terra's Theme from FFVI, for example.
Here's a fun track from FFX:
My favourite game soundtrack is from Koudelka, especially the "oriental" mood:

The endless plight (and violence) of the orc (nod)
The magnificent track 'Hiro' from the Swedish game 'Roll Away' (known as 'Kula World' in Europe)
has stuck in my memory forever since I first heard it while playing the game on my PS1, centuries ago 8-)

The original UT had some thrillingly dramatic tracks:

Stronghold had a really nice medieval-themed tracks:
