Cassiebsg (without the emoticon): 2 points

Punctuation does not count, just like palindromes. For instance,

Madam, I'm Adam.

Full stops, apostrophes and commas don't matter.

Your emoticon contains wtf in text form, and so, shifts the centre of the palindrome.

YEEEEEZ Guroks way of declaing point rules is way to elaborate for me. I have still no idea when a word counts and when not. My sentence "Boring I Know" reversed contains the words rob and won. So why didn't they count? and which other words in my 3-points-quote

I know from my experience it's getting boring very fast if no one seems to have a clue what the puzzle solution is (laugh)

PS: I have NO CLUE! (wrong)(wtf)(laugh)

have been counted? ??? ??? ??? ???

Does anyone have an idea?!?

Kumpel

So the two points in "wait! emoticons count minus?" are emoticons = tome and minus = uni?

Cassiebsg

You gave so many clues/hints (or the solution?) that I'll risk trying to formulate a solution for you. :P

Solution: 1 point for each character matching a palindrome. Counting from the center of the sentence each character that is in the same place ... and the last point that was eluding me was the center character, that can be read from left to right and right to left, as I only counting when there were two matching characters... (roll) spaces and special characters do no count.

Correct, Cassiebsg! Congratulations!

Basically, yes, one point for every character matching a palindrome. My definition was: one point for each time a letter or number can be found equidistant from the beginning and end of the message (not counting spaces or punctuation). With that, I was counting the middle character if there was one.

To illustrate:

Madam, I'm Adam

Code: palindrome
madamimadam
######

6 instances of the same letter/number occurring the same distance away from the left as it does the right

= 6 points

Now I know what makes an easy/difficult puzzle when it comes to these things. Thanks everyone for staying with it. It was fun... in the beginning.

Okay, next puzzle, Cassie!

YESSSS finally! Cassie I raise my hat off to you ;-D

This has been one tricky puzzle!

Cassiebsg

let's be fair, Danvzare was the first to mention or even notice palindromes... and Guroks tons of clues... including the "shifts the centre of the palindrome." was what gave it away... the rest I had help with a Wiki... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palindrome , cause I wasn't sure what the rules were for a palindrome. (roll)

I'll see if I can thing of someone decent as follow up, in the mean time, if anyone has go ahead and jump in. ;)

Okay, got one. Not sure if it's going to turnout too hard, or even impossible, though. :-[
