The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Enter the surreal, disturbing, and ridiculous world of the Knobbly Crook in this old-school point-and-click adventure. O'Sirus the Snip is a simple paper farmer driven to epic adventure by a spooky face with a spookier voice. He will ultimately seek to become a Knobbcrookian royal guard–a Guffaloon. Stories of their heroic battles against the fearsome Bogold empire echo throughout the Crook. Unfortunately, they're not currently recruiting simple paper farmers. He's going to have to use every dirty trick in his book to cheat his way to the top and that means YOU will need to understand the key elements of the Knobbly Crook - Rock, Paper, and Scissors. Creatures of stone crush the metallic Knobbcrookians. The Knobbcrookians herd and farm paper animals. Fearsome stone giants fear tiny paper animals.

I love this game. I have read somewhere that it did not get the attention the creator hoped for, wich is really a shame, it is a great game with a humor I could really connect with and stunning artwork. Thanks for making this game, I look forward to more games from you!

It's a delightfully weird and creepy game with a fascinating world full of outstanding imagery and memorable characters, and having all characters speak in their own strange language with texted dialogues adds a lot to it.

Apart from a few cringey jokes and a rather rushed ending that throws a ton of huge plot points at you in just a few minutes, it's overall a great fun and intriguing game that has truly unique worldbuilding and visuals.

Very impressive game! The puzzles are well balanced, and the art is so unique and amazing. I typically don't enjoy "weird" worlds that require a lot of reading, in order to understand what is going on and be able to play. I just want to jump in. But this designer builds a strange world on top of a basic foundation, so it doesn't require learning a huge back story in order to understand enough to move forward and enjoy the ride. It's brillant!

I've nominated KC for the 2018 best game !
The quality of backgrounds, character art, animations, voices and sounds is outstanding and is usually only found in commercial games.
Some puzzles are difficult and I had to refer to the video walkthrough on YouTube.
Labelling hotspots would have helped because it can be hard to find objects in the busy backgrounds.
Overall, it's a must-play and you won't regret it if you're prepared to put some effort to understand this crazy world :)

The amount of effort that must have gone into making this game is amazing, and so is the output. The writing and the voice acting was particularly stunning - the characters speaking their own language while the text works as subtitles for the player is brilliant. There is so much more this title has to offer though, from the stunning visuals to the overall abstract, absurdly logical unique world. The quality of this game is above and beyond what many commercial games offer, and it deserves much more attention that it seems to be getting so far.
