The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

This short game it's about a person who wakes up in the middle of the night, trapped inside the duality between being awake and dreaming (sleep paralysis). They are visited by two entities that are willing to help them get out, one way or another.

This mini point and click game was made in the context of the Global Game Jam 2022 in just one week. The theme was: Duality

(The game default language is Spanish, to set English language you must click on "winsetup" and select "English" in Game Language section)

AGS Panel Review

"Nice looking and sounding game which raises some philosophical questions. Quite short and there are some troubles with the English translation."

3 people commented on this game (newest first):

Beautiful and well sounding, but also very short game. Play in Spanish if you know that language. It feels like parts of a longer story - an expansion would have been nice.

Thank you! I'm agree with the translation thing! I recognize that I did it too fast. I have improved some things. I wanted that the creatures speak more formal and ""strange"" and the protagonist a little bit more informal and ""normal"".

I love a good philosophy/psychology game, and this does not disappoint. It is centred on dreams, very much like Private Subconscious Therapy (PST), and calls upon the protagonist to decide upon a dichotomy like most philosophies do. Good vs. Evil, Chaos or Order, or in this case Truth vs. Optimism. I think Voltaire would have approved.

Gamewise: the art is good, the coding is flawless and the puzzles are challenging with one major drawback for an English speaker. The translation needs work. A key part of the game is finding certain clues which are in Spanish, so off to the internet. The real shame is that the philosophical point that the developer is trying to make is lost if that translation is not effected. Still, I enjoyed it very much, more of this please.
