The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

AGS Panel Review

"General lack of gameplay, the short length, and a few bugs that can crash the game hurt an otherwise interesting premise."

11 people commented on this game (newest first):

People went way too easy on this game. I don't know why. It was pretty terrible. The character walked painfully slow and the dialouge was extremely uninteresting. The story was kinda lame. Didn't get into it at all. And to top it off it crashed. How is a game good if it crashes? Should fix that. Mediocre and weak game.

I think it doesnt matter the game is short. The lenght of this piece is a good thing. Lasts as long as the atmosphere of the game.

Remind me not to get on the wrong side of you at poker! And as I don't know who you are, I just won't play poker ever.

The game was short and sweet, and when I looked at my coat in the inventory the game crashed out. Plus the guy moved rather slowly. Still, it's easy to nit-pick, and I did rather enjoy the story and it's ...ambiance hehe

Short but interesting game. Good ambiance. I will try your other creations :)

I thought it was really unique and classic. Too bad it was so short, though: I would have loved to continue playing it somehow.

For a short game, it was very compelling that the main character had a huge grudge. Even though it was small, it could have used some more challenging puzzles, but it was good all in all.

Man, this was super dark... I kind of had a feeling I would end up having to kill someone when I lost at poker though.... fairly enjoyable and great graphics. My only complaint was the walk speed being painfully slow.

The puzzles were a little easy but the graphics were quite nice. The game could do with some more thorough beta-testing, as it crashed on me in two different places, and apparently (according to the thread for this game in Completed Games Announcements) it crashes elsewhere too.

This game is a good start that shows lots of promise. The puzzles are simple and logical, but show some thought went into them, and the atmosphere and setting, while dark, are pretty intriguing. It was a pleasure to test the game, and the latest version has some additional polish. Thumbs up!

A nice simple game. You are on the right track, looking forward to see more of your work.

The premise of the game is interesting and I liked the introduction quite much. My problem is mainly that the puzzles are too easy, and also that with such a theme, it might have been possible to expand further, for instance about what's going on inside the hero's mind.
Nevertheless, it is difficult to make a short game with a story not That common, and I think you succeeded quite well, so I look forward to your next game!
