I could really use this for my text windows to achieve a really nice effect. (eg- final fantasy VI/III) (right now I have a graded sprite, but the problem is that it doesn't display it in the middle b/c it starts from the top left corner.. so sometimes it sort of looks weird)

I totally agree with this. A much needed feature for GUI's and inventory backgrounds.
