Games on external SDCard can't be launched in Android 4.4 (KitKat)

Due to the changes in how write access works for external SD Cards in KitKat (good summary at [url=http://www.androidcentral.com/kitkat-sdcard-changes]http://www.androidcentral.com/kitkat-sdcard-changes[/url]), attempting to launch games results in an "Unable to write to the current directory" error - I haven't looked at the source but I suspect that games specific configuration files and/or saved games are saved to the game data folder, causing the error.
