Competition Cycle
The current competition cycle (begun by Dualnames) consists of MAGS A and MAGS B. This system ensures that there is always a month-long MAGS contest in progress with no breaks for voting.
MAGS A (January, March, May, July, September, November) starts on the 1st and ends on the last day of the month. The winner sets the theme of the next MAGS A. Voting takes place whilst MAGS B is running. (2 weeks)
MAGS B (February, April, June, August, October, December) starts on the 1st and ends on the last day of the month. The winner sets the theme of the next MAGS B. Voting takes place whilst MAGS A is running. (2 weeks)
The MAGGIES
The MAGGIES is the name given to the annual award for Best MAGS Game of the Year. The name sounds like a set of awards but is really just one award and the winner is typically announced as part of the AGS Awards ceremony. However, the voting process for the MAGGIES takes place seperately from the AGS Awards voting system.
