Sometimes it's fun to write the title of a song first before writing the song. I find just a song title can spark creativity and imagination. So here are some song titles to pick from:

Banana Slug

Hide And Seek

Doldrums

Have fun and good luck!

(obviously I will be judging on how well the tune fits the title and how well composed/sequenced it is in general)

My song: An army of Banana Slugs that at first seem threatening emerge in the Doldrums to play Hide and Seek when an monsoon sweeps over them but luckily passes before any damage is done. Around three hours, all types of synths, a prepared piano, brass and some violins.
Song with long name
did one more: Hide and seek

Here's my entry:
Hide and Seek

Lyrics and vocals by me.

THAT WAS AWESOME.
It inspired me to write a song and sing as well.
Plainly titled: The Doldrums.

i present to you Banana Slug
it's just over 3 minutes long and highly experimental, i'm not too happy with the sudden ending but i felt that i could have just kept working on it and ended up making something around 10 minutes long, which i still might do in the future...

well following the trend to try cover all the titles i thought i'd have a crack at Hide and Seek it's just under 4 minutes long, a little less experimental but just as minimalistic as Banana Slug and it kind of wanders off at the end and stops kind of abruptly (as i hardly ever finish the tracks i start i haven't quite got the hang of endings yet)...

edit:-
just to let you know i'm entering with my first tune (Banana Slug)

Limey Lizard, Waste Wizard!

Thought I'd enter my first attempt at using Propellerhead Reason.  It's the first time I've used a non mod tracker before, so it's taking some getting used to.  Also, I have no midi keyboard and manually dragging notes makes for some annoying timing issues.  Anyway, my rough first tune...

HIDE AND SHRIEK!

Hide from Jason...If you can!

Here is my song, I wrote it really quickly as I haven't entered this competition before.  I wrote a quick drum 'n bass tune that gave the feeling stealth, sneaking and hiding.  I call it:

HIDE, STEALTH AND SEEK

A fifty foot banana slug attacks Tokyo. Quick, sampled from old Bollywood records.

If anyone wonders, I'm still going with my first entry.

Ok man, I was wondering about that... ;)

Again, I have been what others call 'lame':

The Burning Sun Hid Me Well

Don't know why I still try it. Guess it's inversed satisfaction.

cheers

Time to judge! :)

Got a lot of good entries, too.

The winner is...

ProgZmax

With Biothlebop close on his tail with his unusually long-titled tune.

Vel, I love your tune, the beginning sounds like the perfect setup for a electronic tune such as this: http://www.gregjazz.com/upload/0503-S-Spacey-Ocean.mp3

Xenogia's tune is really hip, but it sounds a little too much like loops just stuck together, and I'm not sure of the originality of these loops...

Nikolas

Congrats ProgZmax. you deervedto win! Well done!

Jason Takes Manhattan!? YEAH!
