It was originally gonna end 3.12, but I'm away and won't return until the 7th.

This time I ask of you to create a cover of a song you like. It matters not what genre the original is, nor what genre the end-result is.

Here is a quick example:

That is a faux-lofi cover of the song About you now by the Sugababes.

Do not enter songs you have made before. Only tracks made specifically for this contest will be accepted. Naturally you can showcase any covers you've made as long as it's clearly stated that it's not an entry. Now get cracking before I spank you all.

EDIT: You should also post a link to the song that you have chosen to cover. If it is not availible online then that's okay. Just saying that it would be easier for me to judge a song if I knew what song it was a cover of.

its pretty obvious which song it is :p

Edit: It only just occurs to me how bad the first verse and chorus are.. not quite sure what happened there.

Synthetique

Ooh i know just the song I want to enter with. Expect a little tune from me. ^^

Crimson Wizard

Heh, I am not a composer, and I do not exactly comprehend what counts as "cover" version, so I am making this just for fun... and weird fun  ;D

Here was a simple midi I found somewhere:
http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/Chorus_Arpeggio.mid

And here's what I did with it:
MIDI version: http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/Chorus_Arpeggio_with_Drums_and_Distorted_Guitar.mid
OGG version (created using some shareware soft, I already forgot which one):

enjoy. If you can.  :P

Calin Leafshade- Wow, you have been brave enough to go for Jeff Buckley, one of my favourite musicians ever! Excellent job. It's so much better than Leona Lewis' version, and  nearly as good as original. I really mean it, it's fantastic!

Actually this was the simplest recording ive done in a long time.. sit in front of a microphone and play.
It was all a single take, took about 15 minutes from start to finish.

@Calin
Hey, that´s quite a wonderful version you did. Much better than the most covers of it I heard.

Haddas

Not too many entries this time around but man, them's some pretty high quality ones!

I'll get around to announcing the winner sometime tomorrow.

*cough*..Ehum!

And here today, that is the very next day after I posted that I would announce the winner, I am announcing the winner.

The winner is.. *drumroll* CALIN LEAFSHADE PHEMAR for his stunning rendition of that famous Avril Lavigne song. I don't particularly like Avril Lavigne, but this track is absolutely gorgeous. Congratiolations.

Don't worry, I liked the other entries a lot too, but this one stood out for me. Congrabutations once more!

Calin Leafshade
