Overall a fantastic remake and I look forward to King's Quest 2.
Puzzles nice and light, a few bugs here and there though.
Advice for anone to play this - download the patch!
and dont bother with the dialoge download, really bad voice acting.
A couple of gripes:
I kept getting killed early on because I hadn't read the manual. I saw the manual in the download, but because manuals are usually about things like keyboard shortcuts and how to access the inventory, I didn't bother to look at it. Only after searching the forums did I find that there is information in the manual that it is essential to know in order to be able to play the game successfully.
It would be extremely useful if there were a comment in the blurb alongside the download link saying "If you're unfamiliar with the original, make sure you read the manual before you start." and a similar comment when the game starts (given when you answer "no" to the question "Have you played King's Quest 3 before?" at the start of the game).
You can die or otherwise meet with misfortune all to easily in this game, sometimes arbitrarily. There are also a fair number of dead ends. No doubt this reflects the gameplay in the original, so I can't really criticise this game for doing the same. Save early and often.
Otherwise I enjoyed this game very much
