Me, as a leader of a fangame which productions is lasting years, and as an "artist" who has lots of sprites who nobody will ever see, gotta tell you: Publish the animations, the shortcuts, the BGs... I know many people (I include me) would LOVE to see them.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

I'll put up a link to some screenshots as soon as I can.

You said you weren't going to do the remake, but what about the sequels?
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I'm of two minds about that.Ã,  I could either make a sequel or a parody.Ã,  Or something else.Ã,  I guess I'm just your average wannabe game maker lost in a broom closet on an endless space quest!

I do think making a sequel would be very do-able.Ã,  It wouldn't have to be long, the look and the basic storyline are already there to be pilfered (and changed enough to avoid the wrath of Marin County lawyers, who I seriously doubt would even notice).Ã,

One of the things I really enjoy about Loom is the mix of humor and seriousness.Ã,  Some games have done it well.Ã,  The Longest Journey does a good job, I think -- I'm very impressed by that game, warts and all.Ã,  But no one has pulled it off as well as Loom.Ã,  I wonder if Lucas didn't make the sequel not just because of Loom's tepid sales but because of where the story was going.Ã,  I think they made a mistake, but hey, it's their money.Ã,  Along those lines, I was surprised that Peter Jackson's The Two Towers was such a huge hit, because the storyline is so dark and tragic.Ã,  Or Terry Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys, a very sombre tale indeed.Ã,  I never thought that would do so well.

I'm a graphics person and have co-written screenplays, a couple of which were filmed very very cheaply, so I know how to work with a group on a project.Ã,  Most of what I've done so far with Loom is backgrounds, some character sketches, some walkthrough experimenting.Ã,  But I'm pretty pathetic at scripting (someone'd have to write the script for the animations for all those birds!).Ã,  Ã, If anyone is interested in working on a Loom sequel or a "Loomish" project, or just blabbing, let me know.Ã,  I very much appreciate the response so far.Ã,  Ã,  Ã,

Scummbuddy -- you believe sent me an e-mail a few months back expressing interest in working on a project, possibly a Loom sequel.  I'm afraid I was quite busy there for a while and also lost the message you sent.   Could you resend it or send another?  Thanks!

I don't believe I did, I'm fairly busy working on 4 games currently.Ã,  ;)

I was interested in pushing you though, someone tenacious enough to pick up with loom, using the template, and art already given by the first game, into creating sequels to games that I know a lot of people would like to see. I, for one, haven't actually played Loom longer than 10 minutes. I would say I am far inferior to begin work on a fan game/sequel on that basis alone.

If you wan't me as team leader, or manager; someone to yell at you every day, wondering where that new art sheet/background is... I'd be more than happy to keep you on a workable deadline.  ;D
