I've had this one on my server for a while. I hardly ever use it, but I'd love to see it in the row of Rogers!

Roger :3

Also, this one (which I've used on numerous occasions):

Oceanspirit Roger

And two variants:

Ali

I think this is a cool idea, and the entries look great!

Once they are all in, perhaps m0ds could commission someone/ProgZmax to bring them all a bit closer together stylistically? This may sound a little precious, but it will annoy me if some of them have outlines and others don't. Or some are high-contrast and others low-contrast.

Is that just me?

(@Knoodn: Thanks!)

Here's a fuller set of the Azriel-smileys for your consideration. I'm especially proud of the sad-smiley (not). I tried to increase the color contrast and make them more clear and smiley-like.

Cuppit smily!

Wow! Even in that small format it radiates helpful helpfulness and many useful uses!

Awesome entires for those "special" smilies - WOW!
I'd love to see this wonderful FatBatman to be used as a special rescue-smilie.

AGS-Community is in need of big small-blue-cup-smilies!!

Still a work in progress:

Working on the entire set (and many more animated ones) as well.  More to come...

Those are by far the best ones yet. I'm just not sure about the white outline though.

Easily removable... I just thought it would help to separate them from a similarly colored background!  Well that and I rather like how it looks :)

It kinda throws that impression that it was cutout from a white background from someone who doesn't know anything about image editing. Otherwise, like I said, they're perfect and I would definitely welcome them.

The reason I've disliked these roger smileys so much is the orange/green coloring to them. It's very 90's looking. lol

I like it too, it makes them 'pop'. All really good smileys so far but I would definitely like to see this set get the seal of approval so I can start using 'that eyebrow'

I guess it's being optimistic since I know creating these is a lot of work, but if there were enough of them, it would be cool to have a choice of which set to use so it wouldn't matter if they were stylistically different.

Ali

I agree sets of smileys would be a nice touch. But if 'Adventure Game Characters' is a set, then they should be stylistically consistent within that.

Jonez

I myself do too think that Darth's blue cups would be the perfect choice as the new smiley set. They're probably not what the original idea was, but now that I've tried my luck at drawing a detailed character as a smiley, I've started to think it might not be the best idea; if you make it too detailed, the expression the smiley is supposed to convey is not very clear. If you make it too smiley-like, it doesn't look or feel like the original character anymore. Depends on the original character though.

Darth's smileys are clearly smileys, good ones at that, and above all there's a part of AGS itself in them.
I don't think the white frame gives them an odd look at all, though they might look better without it, I don't know.

All I'm really concerned is the way they would align with the text. What I gather from straydogstrut's post, to my taste the smileys would be too high compared to the text.

Khris

So the height is an issue regarding the flow of text...?
That's good to know

Seriously though; bar the two exceptions (??? :=), the original ones are 15 pixels tall. They already push apart the lines a bit, so the new set shouldn't be much taller. As much as I like the detailed expressions on Darth's smilies, they are simply too tall IMO.

This was already mentioned, SMF supports choosing your own set of standard smilies.

Did an overhaul and made their height 16px (could get it down to 15 if I drop the white outline but I like it).  I think they lost a bit of the charm they had when they were 19px tall... but I still like 'em!

straydogstrut

I think being shorter they now look more like cups rather than mugs.

I think they look fantastic Darth, well done! :D

Really cool cups Khris and Darth!

Will there be animated versions possible in this size, too?
