Okay, forgive me if this has been asked before or is in the wrong section... *is contrite*

What are some of your favorite AGS or commercial game soundtracks?

Here's mine:
1)  Eco Quest - Never played the game, unfortunately, but the music is so gorgeous at times that it almost doesn't belong in a "kiddie" game.  Quite a few of the tracks are cute, too, especially the sea turtle's theme :)

2)  Perils of Poom - Nice, simple tunes that stuck in my head for DAYS.  I especially liked the "bad guy" theme.

3)  Space Quest 3 - Love, love, LOVE that title theme.  Rockin'!

I always liked Enrey's theme from Hero's Quest 1.

Gilbert

Hmmm in no particular order:

1) Kyrandia series, just LOVE the games and the musics.
2) LOOM (no need to explain, right?)
3) Shadow of Darkness, well EXTREMELY buggy game, but the soundtracks and the game itself are both adorable.
4) Richard Longhurst and the Box that ate Time, well the music can never get out of my brain...
5) Pleurghburger: Dark Age

Should be more, it's just a list that I can recall at the moment.

Oh yes!  "Erena's Peace" is a lovely piece.  Gives me chills, even as a midi.

Ah yeah ^_^ I love that one too.

Babar

The Monkey Island Theme- My mobile tune
Kings Quest 6s - Girl in the tower. Oddly enough, I prefer the MIDI to the actual song
Conquest of Longbow Music
LOOM music
Indiana Jones (Maybe that doesn't count, considering it is originally from the movie)- My mobile tune for messages
The main (forest? Walking?) theme in Quest for Glory
The ultimate Professional Amateur

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

Bombadil

I have no favourite....

but how can anybody of you mention Simon the Sorcerer...!!!

Bugalicious

Gabriel Knight has kickass music. "oh when the saints go marching in..."
good times!
Bugs Page Is Here!

I love the intro-theme to BaSS.
Oh, and also the MI theme.
By the time you read this you've already read it.

Abisso

Maybe cause it's from the first ORIGINAL game I bought, but I just love the MI theme (especially from the first episode, listened with a PC Speaker: undescribable feelings it gives me!)

Also the LOOM theme is very fascinating.

And one theme that I don't like so much, but anyway I can't seem to get out of my head, is the Larry Vales intro one.
Welcome back to the age of the great guilds.

I vote The Dig for most atmospheric & least obtrusive.
I vote FOA's score for simply being the best adventure score, made better thanks to iMuse!

MoodyBlues, glad you like the Poom tunes! Keep an eye out for the deluxe edition, with a brand new soundtrack and of course - the John Wrath theme sounding even better! ;)

Indiana Jones (Maybe that doesn't count, considering it is originally from the movie)

Well if that doesn't count then neither does Loom.

I would say my favorite game soundtracks are Gabriel Knight, Leisure Suit Larry 3, and the Dagger of Amon Ra.

I'm pretty sure that all of FOA's music was original, aside from the main Indy theme. That original music is fantastic, so I have no problem calling it a great soundtrack.

Grim Fandango is probably my favourite, though I'm a big fan of the Dig soundtrack as well. The Monkey Island soundtracks are generally fantastic of course (for my money the music was the only truly great thing about Monkey Island III).

I find on the whole it's hard to go wrong with a Michael Land or Peter McConnel score.

HillBilly

Day of the tentacle, Sam & Max and Monkey Island 2. Awesome stuff.

Monkey Island 2. All of it.

I second that notion... it's incredible how much the music makes the game.

scotch

Grim Fandango, and CMI... and MI2 has nice midis.

MoodyBlues

Oh!  And how could we forget "The Ballad of Freddy Pharkus?"   ;D

"By the time he reached pubescence, he could outdraw all the adolescents..."

Hmm... let's see.... I'm a sappy girl, so I always liked Girl in the Tower too.  You guys will probably think I'm lame, but I wish it was on karaoke, because it would be a fantastic duet to do with my boyfriend.   I also liked The song Rosella sang in KQ7... I don't remember the name.  I liked the music in the 7th guest, because it was so creepy.
The hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. (Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers in "The Gift")

Haddas

MI theme.
Rob Blanc theme.
many more I can't remember.
