Just played this little point-and-click game, Follow, listed on jayisgames.com. It's stirring up some controversy over there for its content. The artwork and music are really well done, the gameplay is quite good and the game itself is pretty easy. Just mentioning it here for anyone who'd like to play it.

I've had it go, thanks to Pablo, I believe suggesting some days ago, on IRC, and i also recommend. Now controversy...right, how would that game cause... anyhow.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Stupot

Just had a quick bash.  Nice little distraction.
It would be better if you could play as the guy as well! :o 8) >:( :-[

ThreeOhFour

Interesting ideas, although I'd have liked more info given on characters as the game progressed.

Kinda liked the action chase scenes to break up the puzzly bits.

Best part: Her character sprite.

Igor Hardy

Rather primitive game - I'm not surprised it was made for a 72h jam. Didn't like it much. The graphics are nice, but that's it.

Nice effort in 72 hours.

edit: but gameplay feels a bit linear (way too linear) to me. Am I missing something?

I found myself making my OWN stories about them  ;)
Felt a bit like a dark version of Home Alone... I loved the graphics a lot, but I would've wished for some more rooms and interactions. Would make a perfect setup for an AGS game, though.

Monsieur OUXX

I actually liked its simplicity.
It's more of an interactive short tale than a game.

I also wonder about the controversy: Is it because of what happens at the end? Or maybe because the cat bleeds when breaking the window?

cat

Nice game, thanks for the link. So, what is that controversy about?

The smashed cat?

No problem. I liked the game and thought others might do to.

The controversy is about the way the woman is treated - following the woman, slapping her, etc. Look the game up on jayisgames.com (when the lights come back on - they're currently blacked out in support of the campaign against SOPA and PIPA) and read the comments section. There doesn't seem to be much fuss about the way the guy and the cat are treated.

Stupot

The interesting thing is that he claims he's there to protect her... and we don't know otherwise because we're not told anything.  For all we know she's some murderous pshycho escaped from a ward and he's trying to catch her to prevent her from killing again... Although he still shouldn't slap a woman.

Ugh, what a horrible interface! Talk about click everywhere until something happens.

Click click click click click, ugh. Why no @overhotspot@ D:

paolo

@Stupot+: She says he's her bodyguard, but then, if she is an escapee from a psychiatric ward, that might not be the case.

@Chicky: The mouse cursor changes when you're over something you can click (except in the chase scenes).

Also, that handy TAB trick in Flash works.

Chicky

Ahh, seems the curser was missing, running Chrome in OSX. That would have made it more enjoyable.

Secret Fawful

The best parts were the chase sequences, just because I loved the concept behind them, but what the hell at the ending. That came out of nowhere.

Dualnames

Right, so we have a bunch of internet warriors fighting for women because a game has slapping. Right. INTERNET.

Trapezoid

Cute game. Which is why the woman-slapping seems unnecessary. You can't really put that in a game and hope everyone magically forgets that it's a sensitive visual.

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

This is the part where someone writes something controversial like "There should be more women slapped in video games".  :=

On a more serious note, no one huffed and puffed when the innocent patient in Mind's Eye got choked out and then gut punched by a black man..
