I decided to document my work on my MAGS (march) game this month. Make yourself known in the stream chat for audience interaction!! :)

Please check out twitch.tv/nihilstarcraft if you want to take a look at my progress or just watch a fellow game maker work! Chances are I'll be on and streaming, if not, you can check the videos I already streamed!

Should be plenty of fun!

I'm kinda interested to find out if this is something people are interested in seeing/watching. I fully expect to have 0 viewers most of the times, but who cares.

Have been listening and pushing pixels :) You look like a friend of mine!

You also have a super cool computer chair.

Watching over my lunch hour!
EDIT: Oh, fine, just go out for dinner during my lunch hour!  I didn't want to watch anyways!

Watching right now. Enjoy following your thought process...
Maybe you could include 'daylight envy' as some kind of theme in your game. Coz that's what I got right now! It's BLEEDING dusk
right now and Vince is having lunch . (He basically just stole OUR sun!)
Thinking about it, 'daylight envy' might become all the latest rage! *wave hair in an affected gesture*

Ahh, too late, a cop game!:)

It's very interesting to watch you and hearing your thoughts while creating!

Thank you for sharing this (just don't like the very present/loud music ;) )

Edit:
You asked for a game that takes place on a train - I remember Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None

No, I think this one takes place on an island. Murder on the Orient Express takes place on a train, as well as The Last Express.

I tried to watch the stream, but my connection seems to be to slow, it didn't run smoothly.

Watched for a bit, very interesting, and also nice to see some Paint .Net lovin'..

The game with the train is The Rail by Technocrat, a very nice game.

Pressing Enter key after drawing every line seems to actually frustrate mr. dkh, so I don't thing there's actual love there.

Yepp - I mixed those  (roll)
Thank you for clearing and helping, cat

Edit:
It was veeery interesting and I will watch more for sure. (nod)
btw.
The package/thing we are looking for could be a message (telling a meeting point or something else and it can include another puzzle to be deciphered)

DoorKnobHandle

Thank you all for watching! Those first six hours were a lot of fun and I think in the end we came up with a pretty interesting and cool concept so far!

I do share the Paint.NET loving, as I said on stream, it's an outstanding freeware paint tool, the best I've ever seen. And yes, still the return thing after every line is annoying, not sure if there's something that can be done about that.

Thanks for the idea, Tabata, that's a good idea. So far, we haven't thought about what the message/package/whatever actually is, but I like the idea of it being a message instead of something really obvious, like money, drugs or what have you.

So, the idea is I will turn on the stream whenever I work on the game this month. Definitely tomorrow, and then, while maybe not every day, certainly almost every day, it's MAGS after all. I\ll make a post in this thread to let you girls and guys know that I'm on, so you can catch it if you want! If you want to make your voice heard and interact on stream, go ahead and use this thread or the stream chat (which requires free registration on twitch.tv however). See you tomorrow!

DoorKnobHandle

I'm about to go live with the second day. Looking to expand on the ideas of the first day, make sure to tune in! I'll probably be streaming for about 10 hours, from 2:00 PM to midnight CET!

Stupot

Oh goody, I've just been watching some of your first video, but I'll switch to the live feed :-)

Cool experience again!  (nod)
Thank you for lowering the music. It's been very loud and (over the hours) annoying for me. Also I had the same probs about it bothering the pics/text and speach of the stream (like brutal told about).

I like the boxes (and the other stuff, too), but how about the sticker coloured in grey or a lighter brown (instead of the colour of the wall) to become a bit more realistic?

Well deserved break for you now - Guten Appetit!

There's already something going on

Thanks for watching! It was a lot of work (over 8 hours of streaming with about 40 minutes of break total!) but we got the first room, the player character and a first draft for a walk animation done! Oh, and the puzzles/plot for the entire game. It's going better than expected!

I will very likely be back tomorrow as I said at the end of the stream!

DoorKnobHandle

Stream is back on, 'show' will start in 8 minutes at 3:00 PM CET. Come watch a slightly hung-over AGS guy work more on his MAGS game!
