Oh, you mean you want somebody to make your game for you? Or to help you out?

No, someone would make the game using my idea. I SUCK at AGS stuff. I don't even know how to do sprites  :(

Neither did I. But I learnt how to, just like everyone else here!

You really should follow the simple guide in the manual for AGS and make your own indy game!

The rewards are the satisfaction that you have made it yourself!

A bit of inspiration: I suck horribly at hand-made graphics. In fact, one of my prior (now-abandoned) projects was to be made using 3D (Poser) which ended up looking horrible.

But then I got good at vector graphics. And, using Flash, I made a walk animation that is pretty damn good for a first try, if I do say so myself.

As for AGS, you don't even need scripting to make a basic, working adventure game. Just read the manual from the beginning, follow the tutorials, read the BFAQ if you need to, but you really should try it out yourself.

Don't give up too easily. That's what 99% of the peeps here will tell you. :)

Don't tell me it's the one next to your post.  :=

mwahahaha

I've only been using AGS for a month and a half and already my ability to make sprites and use the studio to make games has improved dramatically, and I had NO prior coding/sprite drawing experience.  Just read the beginners tutorials (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/acintro.htm) and get to work.

However, you may want to make a short, basic game before working on that project that you mentioned.  Like a game with only 3-5 rooms maybe.  You should pick it up quickly.

I started AGS with no scripting ability whatsoever and no priod knowledge of the program. 4 months later, I had finished a game that was nominated for several AGS awards. Winning none of them, but anyway, the point is that you don't need to have any skill whatsoever. Just get an idea and learn the program bit by bit, and eventually you'll be able to come up with something pretty decent! Keep going, your projects will get even better.

The whole idea of AGS is that you can start from absolutely nothing :)

What??? That's his idle animation! ;)

Nah, it's my thread in the C&C forum. Made in Flash, it's a blond girl walking with clenched fists, only because I suck at hands.

I tried doing stuff with AGS but it is too hard. Whe I tried doing the scripting, the whole program messed up. Anyhoo, the real reason for this whole thread is for someone to make a game using my idea.

Have you tried the "Make my gaem!" button? It's really handy.

I thought only SCRAMM had one of those...
Actually, I HAVE worked on a couple of finished games. They just weren't made in AGS.

Dont script then, the only stuff I script for is to make custom GUIs ect.Ã,  Otherwise most of the stuff is completely doable without code.

Also, most people here make games because they want to put their own ideas into a game, and make something original and fun, I would doubt that anyone really would want to "make your game" for you.

Grapefruitologist

Once I tried to make somebody make something for me in a different game, but everybody was too busy making their own stuff. And, as I've learned, it's the same here.
Might I also point out that I couldn't make sprites. But I tried, and atleast they're not as bad as I thought. And, even after making my own sprites, nobody would help me. My advice to you is just read the tutorial (you MUST read the tutorial on AGS) and just try it-that's what I'm doing. It might not be the best game, but I don't think there's any other way to do it.
Now, if you still want help, I'll help you with the game. I can do sounds, music, art, and dialogue. The only thing is is that I said I CAN do them, but I didn't say I was good at them.
I have a keyboard for music, a keyboard for dialogue, Paint for art, and Acoustica for sounds. And, I could make the whole game with AGS, but I don't know any language but a tiny bit of CAOS, which is of no use when making a game. So, in other words, if you want me to help you, keep in mind that I'd probably do no better than you. Probably better than me. But if you still just want to make the game, but not do the hard stuff, then I really will help you, no joke. I need the practice, anyway. But, somehow I doubt you will, because it'd be a pretty bad game in my opinion, if it got finished at all...
But if you DO want me to do it, then just tell me, I will, but I'm trying to make my own game at the moment, and so again, I'll probably not have enough time to work completely on yours.

AGS has one, it's in the drop down menu, quite extensive!

But I guess you wouldn't know that... Sludgey McOtherEngine!

Pah! Silly AGSers and their drop-down menus...

Squinky

Once you go drop down menu baby, you never go back....

Aww yeah!

Steel Drummer

Well, I'll try making this game by myself but I need to know two things: 1. How do you draw sprites (particularly character sprites) for AGS ??? I looked in the manual and it doesn't tell anything. 2. What is the best paint program for drawing backgrounds etc.? I only have PAINT and it sucks  :-\

Look in the critics lounge, I think there is a thread there about paint programs....Just don't expect the program to draw for you....

Also, check out what people are doing in the critics lounge with their stuff, then you can get an idea of what to try (sizes and such) and then of course post in the CL (your sprite or background) if you need any tips after that point....

Whats wrong with ms paint? I use that for all my bg's and, in all my modesty, i dont think they suck... that bad...

Yeah... That feature is kinda lame! It's no fun when the program does all the artwork for you! But i would also reccomend paint to do the art with! :)
