I have been looking or this quite a long time now.

Can't remember the name, only a few scenes.

- Old game, no mouse, only pointers to move and one must write comands. The graphics were close to Space Quest 1.
- There was a castle, maybe black, in the distance in one scene. There was a wall preventing the player from coming to it. Also, a tree.
- If you walk left from the castle, you arrive to a small beach, with a small ship. It looked like the ship could be abandoned, or maybe it was the player's. The ship looked like it had a small house on it.

If this thread don't go here, in this section, please move it to the correct section.

(Also, I haven't visited this webpage for a long time. It's confusing, since now it's all text and no pictures)

Gribbler

The Black Cauldron by Sierra maybe?

Ghost

My first thought was KQ1, but Black Cauldron sounds very likely!

gaarias

I checked some caps. It isn't TBC.

I think the protagonist of the game I am looking is dressed in red. The ship in the beach I mentioned looked fairly modern.

gaarias

Nope. It isn't Maddog either.

I remember the wake up mechanism tho. heh

Perhaps, he's browsing using his mobile phone. And there's also this possibility that he may be browsing the forums, on his computer, using this link: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?wap2 (This wap version only shows text and nothing more - unless you click 'Go to Full Version').

E: Once I were searching for a particular topic, related but not limited to AGS Forums, on my computer: Google returned me the wap version of the AGS website.

SSBFreak

What about the Adventures of Hugo games? I think Hugo 3 took place on an island, so there may have been a beach...

Trapezoid

It's got verb icons and better graphics than SQ1, but could it be KQ6? Castle in distance and houseboat to the left.

Andail

I agree that the scenes sound like KQ6, but it's odd if you remember it as having a text parser and no mouse cursor... Plus, it's quite a leap from SQ1 to KQ6 in terms of graphics

gaarias

It's not a part of a saga. It's just a single game. At least I am sure of that. :P

gaarias

As I said, the graphics remind me of Space Quest 1 and KQ 1. The game it's old.

The protagonist is dressed in red.

Well, this is really a riddle. Are you sure it's an old game, and not an indie retro game inspired by KQ, maybe?

EDIT: Here, see if this one looks like it:

I know it's an old game. I used to play it years ago.

Yes, it may be a mash up of King Quest, it is very similar to it. The graphics are similar too.

When the game starts. The protagonist is walking by a wall. In the distance, you can see a castle (you have to climb the wall or something to reach it). If you keep walking left, you arrive to a tree that is overlooking the wall. If you keep walking left, you arrive to a ship. A small ship; kinda reminder of a fisherman's. It's not old, as the ship seems to have a motor.

BTW, can anyone point the link to go back to the normal interface? As I said earlier, all I can see is text, no images.

AGA

There is no link back to normal interface, the default http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/ is it.  Maybe your cache is malformed or something, so perhaps trying emptying it.  If you're using a mobile browser it's also possible your browser referrer is telling the forums you're on a mobile device and it's using a mobile protocol by default.  If that's the case, try changing your referrer to identify as desktop.

Monsieur OUXX

It's verypuzzling that none of the point n click specialists here can guess the game. Usually it's a matter of seconds.
gaarias, do you remember on what machine you were playing that? Was it a PC, or something older like an Amstrad or Amiga or something.?

gaarias

OUXX, it was a PC game. All the adventure games I played I did on a PC.

Janos Biro

What was the pc configuration? Can you try to be more specific about how many years ago you played? Can you remember anything about the intro, maybe the developer logo or something like that?
