I just wanted to say something in defense of "The Dig". While not the greatest game ever (IMO), I did enjoy it. As someone already said -- the good points outweighted the bad ones.

And holy crap! Are some people always so bitter on these forums? If you didn't like a game, you can say so but you don't have to swear at it! lol Sheesh! It's not a person... *ahem* ::)

In fact, I think "The Dig" is rather one of the most UNDERrated games rather than overrated. You want overrated? Look at "The Longest Journey" *yawns...*

Ah well...  8)

Well I havn't played any of those games. I have been wanting to play The Dig. It seems like some people like it and some don't, I'll have to make up my mind.

Hmm, toonstruck sounds interesting. I've heard of the name, but I don't know much else about it. I'll have to check that one out.

Also, adding another game to the mix. Have many people played Stupid Invaders. I've got a demo for it, and it seems pretty cool, but I havn't heard the best stuff about it from other people.

I played The Dig and Toonstruck. Toonstruck is a great game -- very original, too. Personally I really liked The Dig, except for the CEL shaded cutscenes. Those were really terrible.

I just got The Dig a little while ago. Haven't really gotten into it yet. I'm hoping it's good.

I have Stupid Invaders. I didn't really like it. It's got some outstanding moments and quite a few below average moments. And one of those damned 'context sensitive' interface things that just turn off actions if you're not meant to do them. Some of the humour is funny as all hell, while other bits are just frigging retarded. Still, it has some cool quotes that I still remember.

"I'm going to kill you. And you will scream while you die. And then, you will be dead."
"Working inside a giant vacuum cleaner must suck."

What about 'Rent a Hero'. Has anyone else played that? It's kind of cool. And yet kind of bad. Hard to classify. But it has some nice moments and animations.

Or how about 'Agipito's Crazy Adventure'? That thing cost me 50c.  And it was worth it. No more.

stupid invaders used to be a cartoon on like Fox Kids Network, on saturdays, and then it went off the air, and all of the sudden it had a game. ive thought about getting it, but then i see starcraft being sold with the expansion pack for 10 bucks total, and then i cry and move on.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

wow, i go away for two days and 24 people reply. The csi game was wicked man. I had no game play problems. You have to be able to see past the (slightly) poor 360 panorama views that crop up once in a while but other than that it was great!

I enjoyed toonstruck too but it was a bt to over done you know. like "how many jokes can we pack into 4 seconds?"RAma was truly shocking never buy it. I mean shocking. I magine the worst thing ever. Square it. times it by george bush and you got rama.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Mr_Frisby

QuoteAND I'LL DEFEND THE DIG TO MY DYING DAY!
And I WILL, too. But, Lo and Behold, Is This a Plothole I See Before Me?

Ok, so you divert Brink's attention to get to his stash and force him to help you help Maggie. But if he's so pissed about it, why doesn't he just go to the "crystal room" and pick up a few more? Or a LOT more?

Because  he has already taken them and used most of them - remember, you go in there and that big bowl thing is empty - and Lowe is all like " Stinkin' Junky, he took all my stash! " and then there's like a giant lizard playing electric guitar and . . um  . .nevermind.

No, that only happens LATER. I'm talking about when Maggie is in need of rescuing, the stash only gets empty once you've found the missing Eye part and put it in the machine.

Can't say anything about any of the games besides The Dig, which I really enjoyed. It looked good, the story and the atmosphere were all great as well. I've played games that was alot worse, and that I didn't even bother to finish.

I can live with some irritating puzzles and some plot holes if I can finish the game and still feel good about buying and playing it. And that's what I did.

I've Never even heard of any of thoz games  :P
They all seem great and fun.

How about some reviews?  ::)

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Try "Just Adventure +", or "Adventureboomers". Sorry for not giving links, I just don't know them.

I DO know that The Dig has been reviewed in The Inventory's 5th issue. Final score - 91.

The site I work for, Adventure Gamers, has reviews of all those games except RAMA.

I'm not familiar with Adventureboomers (unless you're referring to Gameboomers), but I can say without bias that Adventure Gamers definitely has more integrity and is of higher editorial quality than Just Adventure.
