Nacho, perhaps. Havn't read the DaVinci Code. I'm mostly interested in going since Gabriel Knight 3 takes place in Rennes Le Chateau and it seemed like a nice location.

It's apparently a big conspiracy theory/Templar history/general nutcase type place to go. Might be nice, but also could be packed with crazies. I'll see what I can find out.

Nacho

Sure Chrille, I am not saying it is not a nice place... I just saying that my "feeling" is that there might be nicest places less "mediatised".  :)

Well, France is full of castles and medieval towns, I name myself AGA' s helper, I will browse the internet as well looking for nice medieval towns. Doesn' t "The Catars country" sound good, as well?  :)
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Yeah Renne's attracting weirdos of all the planet and The DVC was the last opus who make it a total tourist trap. Anyway there's nothing so interesting to see there : 1 small middle age church a strange small tower and some tombstone that you wont be able to see cuz' the 500 other tourists will hide it from your eyes.
"I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe. Destroyed pigeon nests on the roof of the toolshed. I watched dead mice glitter in the dark, near the rain gutter trap.
All those moments... will be lost... in time, like tears... in... rain."

I had a simillar idea... been there? Thanks to corroborate my initial feeling.

Nope - never. Heard a lots of horror story, by history students back from vacations.

I'm just following the RLC phenomenon since the end of the 80's and it was already an hotspot for treasure hunters, Templars junkies and telleruric wave surfers. So, put on industrial-scale DVC organised tour...

Yeah, the Cathar (i think there is an H) region is definitely the place to go if you want to see tons of medieval castles. There is an historic background of religious wars, lords wars in deep valleys and castles on high peeks, etc.

By the way, if you read "the name of the rose", the Cathars are mentioned.

I've been to Rennes le Chateau - it's a purdy place! ;D Not a whole lot of exciting things to actually do there, however. Oh, and I'd like to attend Mittens08 - wherever it's going to be...

MillsJROSS

Can't say I read every post, so if I'm out of the times, I apologize. I'd go to Miami, but I'd go for just a gloves, let alone a mittens. I'd also attend France, now that I have a real job, I can afford things.

Ooooh Mills on the move! And to Europe too! I like the prospect :D

Layabout

Hi. Put my name down. France or Florida, I am pretty sure i would have the funds to attend the event. I vote senlis. It has a great kareoke bar.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Minimi

Hey haven't been here in a while, but still would love to attend to a Mittens one day! If it's france, I'm seriously giving it a thought to attend!

heck! I haven't started AGS for a year on my computer! Am I still allowed to come? I'll bring my own blue cup ;)

Tuomas

I was thinking... and people tell me I spend more money than I make. But, if it so happens, that I was to postpone my civil service, I would most probably be spending that valuable time doing at work, with the prospect of sunny afternoons in France, a glass of Merlot in my hand, in my mind. Also, the more French speakers the merrier, right? Well, can't promise anything, but I'll try hard to be available if there's room then. for I've yet to experience le pays d'amour... if that's correct :)

m0ds

lol Minimi..blast from the past ;) I think it'd be great if you went, and I think having it in France would bring out some more interesting AGS characters :D

DutchMarco

Both are OK in my book, but since France is so much closer, I'll  vote for that. I've never been to a Mittens before, so I'd vote for France for my firrst-ever Mittens.

BTW I take it that Mittens is just a gathering of AGS-geeks (like us) as an excuse to hang out with each other, right? Being so globally dispersed and brought together only by the internet, this kind of meeting was invented as a way for like-minded souls to get physically together and meet up. See who's behind the avatar.

Correct.

Pumaman

Well, it depends what you mean by "get physically together".
