Mittens 2014 Portugal - 19-26 July

As a heads up, I'm definitely 100% out, not just because of the location/prices but also because, now that the date is set in stone, I know that I'm still going to be writing my last exams and handing in projects, Mittens is just a bit too early this time around. Sucks not to be there, have fun everybody!

We have had fairly unknown people turn up before. There's really no better way to get to be a part of the community than to throw yourself in at the deep end!

True...

Problem is that I'm literally on the other side of the planet here in Japan and have neither the time nor the means to get to where you guys are going.

Perhaps one day I will host this event here and we can all go out for kaiten-sushi, finding clues hidden between the neta and the shari before heading out on a real life treasure hunt of my devising...

Last one back has to climb Mt. Fuji and bring back the 2000 Yen cup noodles they sell at the peak for everyone...

That's slightly shorter than standard European single size (200 x 90), but should be fine for averagely heighted humans. And the really tall people are probably used to beds that don't fit them anyway!

I would love to attend, as I have the previous couple of years. But financially it looks verrrry doubtful at the moment $:-\$
So count me out for now (is there a "maybe, if some miracle happens" list that I could be put on?).

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I also find myself in the same financial situation. I'd love to go to Portugal, but it all depends on how much disposable income I have this summer. So for right now I'm a very strong "maybe."

We'll make the deposit regardless, and it sounds like the place is flexible as to pricing depending on how many people attend? So of course you're all welcome to come last minute if you can!

While this is true, I'd still appriciate if people tell as soon as possible if they will come to Mittens, since I payed the deposit and don't want to sit in a huge villa all alone. Are all people that are now on the probable attendees list definites?
