Oh crap... there was another game that I thought was hilariously written, it wasn't much of a game but it was about a soldier from DOOM having to buy a present for a boss from DOOM... As you can tell my memory is awesome. Anyway I think it was hilarious!

OMG, are you talking about Harry's 21st Birthday? It was written by one of my best buds here. I play board games with this guy, like, weekly. And the really funny thing is he didn't tell me he had made an AGS game until pretty recently. This is so weird. Small internet!

MoodyBlues

These all sound like good games worthy of digging up. :D

Oh, and I forgot to mention this gem.  It may be too soon to call it a cult classic, but it's a great game that isn't getting enough love yet.

OMG again- thanks for giving me  a trip way back. To think that I could actually name each map the game used screenshots from...  :-[

That was fun. And managed to give a reasonable explanation for "phobos anomaly" setup.

I recognized phobos anomaly, tower of babel and Dis.
The first room though, and the one where you meet Harry, I did not recognise them. for sure from Inferno, maybe House of Pain and Slough of Despair?

Um, hi everyone. I'm the idiot responsible for Harry's 21st Birthday. I basically created my account 5 minutes ago to reply here.  :D

So, the short history lesson. I made the game in 2001 2003 (my how time flies). Boom. Fast forward to 2008, when I met Ivy at a videogame conference in Montreal. We do indeed play a lot of board games, at which she routinely destroys me both mentally and, frankly, morally. Then, I showed her the game, because it was entirely stupid and I figured she'd get a kick out of it. Then, early this morning, she pointed me towards this thread; and the rest, as they say, is alarmingly recent history.

Honestly, I didn't think anyone actually played this thing---I literally made it for no other reason than to satisfy my curiosity. So I'm flattered you guys dig it.

Ah, not quite! Both rooms come from E2M9: Fortress of Mystery, the secret level in Episode 2.

And to those that have played the game through, I can only say that I apologise so very profusely.

Darn! (But I am a bit relieved that I am apparently not THAT much of a geek). A late thanks for a really funny game!

Ace Starkiller in: Hillbilly Burger Bastards.

For my money one of the best games made in AGS. And it's not even in the DB!

Bummer, the link doesn't work anymore. Anyone who can help me?

:( I searched through all the weird old folders I could think of on my computer and still can't seem to find it. I swear I had it around here somewhere.

It's cool to hear you're still working on it though, ProgZ :D

Oh, I meant to post this earlier, but I really enjoyed Saturday School. It has some super-cute, super-simple graphics, plus some clever puzzles to boot. And it's playable in a lunch hour. :)

Edit: Fixed, fools! ;)

Wow, this game was awesome. Thank you for sharing it and newton for making it. It really takes me back to the times when the internet was a simpler place, and making AGS games was not about quality perse, but about the sheer excitement of being able to create a living, working game out of a childhood dream.
