I could use some help with characters and their animations in my game 'Badlands' which is already in production.

If you need some more details, just PM and I'll get back to you right away.

PsychicHeart

the game 'Slaughterhouse Pig' is in production, and WE NEED YOU!  We need:

1x Room Artists
3x Character/Object Artists
1x Writer
1x Cutscene Artist ( if you can use a HL2 sorta program, you will be accepted straight away )

that's all. If you are looking for a project, then join the Frostee Games team (trial basis) and help make Slaughterhouse Pig possible.

Cheers,

I need a couple beta testers to try out the final version of Anna, winner of the One Room One Week Contest.  I've changed and added several things and need a few extra set of eyes to make sure everything is working correctly.  Additionally, I'd like the testers to double check my spelling and grammar, so I'd prefer native-English speakers.

If you can help me out, PM me.

Hello everyone!

I'm in great need of someone with scripting skills.Ã,  See, here's what happened with my game Spooks (check out the GIP thread here).Ã,  I pushed to have it done in time for the July MAGS, and managed to finish the art, animations, dialogue, plot, puzzles, and pretty much anything that wasn't the programming.Ã,  I also got an awesome musician to contribute a few MIDIs.Ã,  I entrusted the scripting to someone who put together everything according to plan, and who finished about 90% of it.

Then, he disappeared off the face of the earth.Ã,  I haven't heard from him in weeks.Ã,  I know stuff comes up in "real life" and all that, but it still really stung knowing we had been so close to finishing.Ã,  I couldn't bring myself to look at the computer for a few weeks.Ã,  Finally, I'm ready to work on the game again, and I'd like someone to tackle the programming for me (heh...I'm an art person).Ã,  The good news is that I have a demo of about 70% of the game that shows how everything is supposed to work.

The bad news is that I have none of the code, so it would all have to be re-done.Ã,  But once again, I can give really specific step-by-step instructions as to what needs to happen, and all I need is one hardy soul to work on it.Ã,  Please don't hesitate to send me a PM if you are interested.

Here's a screenie to further entice youÃ,  ::):

Thanks so much!

Okay, I'm at my wits end.  I considered asking for help a while ago, but I thought I could handle it.  I can't.  I'm making a semi-original RPG battle-system, and there is just one event that will not work.  I've tried everything.  The problem could be just about anywhere in the code, so I need someone with a little patience to help me overcome this one bug.  If you like the look and the idea for the game, it would be cool to have an advanced scripter as a consultant--not to have to do very much work, but simply to be there to ask the occasional question.

I doubt anyone will be available, but just in case, some more details might be welcome.  Basically this system builds on the ideas of the FF6/3 active time battle but combines it with some more combat elements.  You can put any character in defence mode, and then, when attacked, you are offered a list of possible reactions, such as counterattack, block or dodge.  I have set it up so characters can attack and do damage and recieve damage, but for some reason, every time I try to change or fix the counterattack system (it has never fully worked), characters attack a non-existant enemy with 0 hit points.  The problem baffles me because I have not, in days been able to find any possible problem.  It's out there--somewhere, and I think I need some help.

I could show lots of graphics, but the main screenshots would all use template/placeholder graphics right now.

Oh, and please contact at bspeers@nospam.uvic.nospam.ca  -- except remove the nospam.

EDIT: Well, after about a week's worth of work, I think I got to the crux of the problem, and that bit is now solved.  Gave me a bit of confidence, and maybe I can actually do this on my own after all :)
I also really liked my old signature.

Hey, looking for character animators for the ESPER series. Check my first game (and notice how crappy all the character animations were in it!!!) There are going to be quite a few games in the series I hope, but you don't have to be in it for the long run. I want to keep doing the backgrounds, so check those out and see if you can come up with characters that will work with the backgrounds ("atmospheric," the characters should look lke they belong in a horror movie... desaturization, pale skin, black clothes, lots of shading... the works...). Any interested party either play the first ESPER game or look at the screenshots and try to redo the main character, host it on ImageShack or something and PM me the link. It might be a good thing to have more than one person working on it, since there might be quite a few characters.

If someone would like to make something for me I can offer you some webspace for your game.
It could be in flash too and I will convert it .
Let me know if you want to do it .

Yo Mama!

OK, I actually read the forum rules this time 'round and I think I know what to do...
I need (more like want) a person to write a story for my game Holidays. I could do it, but I kinda suck at creative writing and don't want to waste a lot of my time on something that I will end up trashing. Here is a basic plot summary so far:

You are a kid who gets locked out of their house on Christmas morning, and your family "accidentally" didn't notice you were outside banging on the door, so they don't let you in. You have to find a key or locksmith to get back inside. But along the way, you discover a multi-murder scene in one of the local businesses and should find out what's going on. That's about it so far.

So far... we have been drawing rooms, programming basic stuff, and adding hotspots and messages and whatnot. I still need a path the character is going to take through the game and an actual story. I also could use a character animator, since as you can tell from our previous games (Hotel Hansen and Halloween); we're not the greatest at drawing people in general. Any help is appreciated, just PM me with what you can provide.

Here is a screenshot of one of the businesses:

Hi everyone. Barbarian here (I've worked on a few Adventure Games such as: Escape from Evergreen Forest, The Great Stroke-Off! and The Elevator).

So, here's the scoop... I've got some solid ideas for my next adventure game (it will be somewhat along the lines of a "survival horror" type of story/adventure, such as Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill type of games).

** Update:  I'm approching my project in a different way artistically now. I've decided to go with another plot/story-line that I was wanting to pursue anyways, and I will do it with a "3D-ish" type of approach to the background & character art.
I figured this would be a good way for me to get a more "realistic" look and feel to my project, as well as making some aspects of it quicker to produce in some ways, as I now have certain resources to do it this way now.
I've also been fortunate enough to have someone willing to help me with parts of the art (mainly with a couple of NPC characters), as well as an offer from someone else who will later help me with music and sound-effects once I'm a ways into my project.

However, if there are any artists out there who can make "3D" looking characters and/or Backgrounds, if they want onboard the project as well, feel welcome to contact me and I'll let you know what are some of the things I may need help with.

Once I'm furthur into my project, I may also be looking for some help in designing some of the GUI and/or Cursor-Icon art.

Within the coming weeks Near the Delta: the Adventure Game will be ready to move from pre-production to actual production; script is done, main character walkcycle is complete, as are several NPC animations and backgrounds.  I also have some very talented fellows working on some music for me, and a cadre of would be voice actors for when the time comes.  Unfortunately I don't know how to program, so I need some help.
Really this shouldn't be to difficult, essentially what I'm looking for is somebody who is experienced with AGS scripting and whatnot, I send you all the backgrounds and animations and you make them do what they need to do.  Alternatively, if there's anybody willing to walk me through it step by step, that would be cool, too.  However I'm not exactly a technical person and it would kind of be like teaching an infant to use AGS.
All the usual disclaimers apply, don't expect to make any money off this gig, but you will be credited as "Lead Programmer" and, should you so desire, will be a full member of my independent production studio "Uroborosoft" once the website is launched.  The game, by the way, is based on my Egyptian-themed webcomic, see the link in my sig.

 Hi all,
I know you dont see me in this part of the forum much, that's because i havent really gotten around to doing anything tech-y for the game yet. As I'm well on with the artwork for the game now, i'll sooner or later be looking to get the scripting done, but there's a problem in the way that

a) i have no PC (i have limited access to one but i wouldnt be able to get massive amounts of time in on it)

b)I have no real experience with AGS as a programming tool (ive had a mess with it, but nothing serious)

I am computer literate, and i tend to pick things up quickly, but i'm looking at the possibility of getting a coder (or maybe coders) on board for help with the scripting side of things, in order to speed up the process of actually getting this game going. If anyones interested just PM me, but i must ask that i'd really only like to take experienced coders on board, as i want the project to be of the highest quality.

If you're interested let me know, this wouldnt have to be a full time project, and i'll be doing some bits and pieces myself. All those involved will be credited fully, so as i said, if you're interested, or even want to just ask about anything regarding the game just let me know.

Cheers

Dan

Hi everyone!

I am quite new here but have been lurking the boards for a year or maybe even two. I am in need of help with my new game which I don't really like to expose to much of. I am seeking a scripter for the game because right now everything is going far to slow and if my demo should be out soon I must get someone to script for me.

Everything in the game is so far made by only me. And for those of you who thinks I am a person who makes rainbowcolored MSpaint games, you are wrong. ;)

I will happily send some BG's, Music, Sprites etc. to those who want's the job. So come on and send me some replies, as long as your a better scripter than me, your taken! :D

Hope to hear from anyone soon!

Hi! I'm not sure if this post should be here, but I do need help.

The thing is that I don't need help with a game though:

I'm building a website-portofolio and I'd like to have some pictures of me in the site. The problem is that I don't know anything about photography or photoshop and I don't know anyone who messes with photgraphy. Note that I'm looking to do something of high quality and professional.

So, I need someone who likes photography and has been doing this for some time to take my ugly face some pictures. Of course, since I live in London, this person should be living in London or the surrounding area. I don't care to travel some 50 miles, but no more than that.

Contact me either by PM, or by e-mail at nikolasideris@hotmail.com

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Help needed for an RPG set in an original high-fantasy-style world.
I've got some tunes down and am currently scripting an intricate battle engine visually a cross between turn-based console RPG battles (such as Final Fantasy) and Heroes of Might and Magic, except much more complicated.

What I need is:  BACKGROUND ART,   SPRITES/ANIMATION.

The scary part:
The depth and scope of the project. I have already made single-frame sketches for over a hundred creatures, plus six character races, each in male/female versions. They'll all need to be colored and have battle animations. Characters will also need walking animations. The game world will be VAST so I'll really need backgrounds produced en masse.

The reassuring part:
Let's confine this to 320/240 screen resolution. The sprites are rather small and the animations simple. At this scale very few frames can be used and the movement will still seem fairly smooth. As for backgrounds, I don't care if landscape objects such as hills and trees recur as they are pasted again, as long as each screen ends up different overall. So basically if you make good-looking medieval houses, cave walls, castle walls, bits of desert, swamp and tundra, they can all be mixed and matched and used ad infinitum.

I think this project will prove FUN TO DO gfx-wise.
If you're interested, send or link me to samples of your work.

Okay, I have a favour to ask of the musically talented out there.

I'm doing my game's music (Gift of Aldora) but the theme song was going to be composed by a good friend of mine because I can't manage orchestral things. Long story short, he can't do it and I need it by the end of the month. So, I'm forced to "let him go" (in a nice way) and hope that somebody here has an interest in composing a piece for me.

I've already made the melody and I know what I'm after so there isn't too much creative license here, I'm afraid. There's still a lot of room to put your own stamp on the music and make it how you think sounds best, but yeah... I just don't want any deviation from the tune I created because I have my little heart set on it.

The tune is here: http://kinoko.futariba.com/misc/gametheme.mp3

Basically, I need this to be somewhat epic, orchestral, and angelic. Think of classic angels, and please use trumpets/horns/that sort of thing.

I don't need this to be lengthened, (though a few seconds on the beginning or whatever won't kill me) and I want to keep roughly the same tempo. This music is times fairly well to match where it plays in the game so I can't have much deviation, if any.

Of course, you'll get ample credit in the game and my eternal gratitude. I can pay you a little if you'd like, but not much because I was originally getting this for free so I haven't budgetted for it. It's very important to realise I'm EXTREMELY fussy so even though it may well be the most beautiful piece of music ever, if it's not what I want, I won't use it. I want it to sound nice, but not TOO nice because it needs to fit in somewhat with the style of music I'm already using (see the first post in this thread for examples: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=15608.new#new).

The deadline is the 30th at the latest, so Im afraid you'd have to work fast too.

If anyone's up for the challenge, please PM me ^_^ THANKYOU!
