Submit games to AGS Stream: The Android Marketplace for AGS games.

I developed a marketplace app (In its alpha stages) for AGS games to be downloaded onto Android devices easily.

Before I work this up a little further, I need games to be submitted to the marketplace. To do that, I am asking that anyone with games created for AGS 2.62 and up who would like to make their games available for Android should go to this link here: http://www.diperla.com/agsstream/agsstream.htm .

Just keep in mind the instructions placed in the fields at that link. So just a heads up, when submitting a game, screenshots need to be hotlinkable. Downloads of the game need to be in a zip file. The zip file can contain folders but the main game files (agsdat or exe file) need to be in the root of the zip. The zip file also needs to be hosted on a hotlinkable site. You can use netfirms or hostgator or bluehosting for cheap hosting needs or even dropbox which gives you 2gb free for you to use. If you do not follow these guidelines, you will not submit the game properly.

Looks as if JJS updated his port once more and now AGS for android supports games 2.5 and up. So you can now submit those as well.

And I like it when I normally download an AGS game to my HDD and the files in the rar are in a folder named like the game already. So the demand to have no folder in the zip is counterproductive at all. Would it be possible to read everything inside the zip if the folder with the gamefiles has the same name as the zipfile? Maybe you could have this as an option to not define rather bad standards

Other than that, sorry, no android user here, but if I were I would use this ...

I don't even have an Android device, but I can provide at least one of my games if it's any help.

Is the idea to make the games freely available to all android users or what? Are there any other requirements for the games to take into account?

Selmiak : I can see what I can do about the folders option, but I can't gaurantee it. Also, you do not need to use android to submit a game. All this does is allow android users to play games you made on their devices.
WHAM: actually you can now submit games from as low as 2.5 thanks to JJS. And yes you can submit any game as long as its not a commercial game. The idea is so that android users can download games onto their device without hassle. So yes, the more games that are submiited, the better. As far as other requirements for the games, there is only one which is that if utilizes a plugin, the plugin will not work. So if the game heavily relies on it, then I wouldn't submit it.

Ya, nobody loves IE... $:-\$ I'd like to submit Hubris, so I think I'll just install Chrome and set up everything as required. A nice idea in any case!

Excellent idea! But you have a category for nudity and a category for sexual content. Should one of those be a category for violence?

Geez this is brilliant! I haven't been checking the android threads because I was busy lately (and I don't own an android device YET) but this is just marvellous. I've added one of my games I think would do really well on tablets. Now I only need to get one to see how it looks on one.

I've made a submission.

On the submission screen, I think the box for "description" is too small, and it would probably help if language was a couple of pulldown menus or checkboxes.
For adult content, I believe that nudity and sexual content is basically the same thing, and the third one should instead be a dropdown for violence. At least, that's the rating system bigbluecup also uses.
Finally, can we have a preview screen?

Nudity isn't necessarily sexual content.

It would be disturbing if a games featuring classical sculpture, renaissance painting or even a naked child in a paddling pool were labelled as having sexual content.

On topic, I think this is an excellent development! Excuse my ignorance, but is it now possible to configure AGS games to work reliably on Android devices?

Not sure best place to ask this, but how does the Android port handle AGI-esque AGS games? Can you do typing or keyboard controls? Basically, would it be a waste of time for me to submit http://adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1305 ?

There is no way to do full keyboard control yet. You can do keyboard input with hardware keyboards or the Android onscreen keyboard but it is only suitable for short texts like savegame names.
