In August, I presented "The Shivah" at an IGDA meeting here in New York.  A reporter from Gamasutra was there and did a write-up about it, in addition to interviewing me.  It took a month, but it's on there now.  You can read about the event, read the interview, and learn about some of the other games that were presented.

The event was also videotaped, and was recently placed on Youtube.  You can view the videos here:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P18jOFoiyR4
(Where a trailer for the game is played, and some features are demonstrated)

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWJ6BN4wokI
(Where I open up AGS and recreate a small scene from the game)

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsy-n17i4ig
(Where I answer questions from the audience)

Congratu-fucking-lations dave!

I know the language is harsh but that's totally awesome. I've been going to IGDA meetings in upstate NY and they're pretty cool but I would have loved to be in the audience when you demoed The Shiva, woop-de-woop!

Thanks, Eric.  The video of the presentation is supposed to go up on Youtube soon.  So you can pretend you were there.

That's great to hear (read). Your game is excellent and well-deserves every bit of public interest it can get. Hats off! :)

Buckethead

I might even gonna play your game now

Wow!  I didn't even know these were up yet.  Parts 2 and 3 are hard to find, so I updated the original post.  Thanks, Nick.

Today it's an important day:

It's the first time that AGS is 1) shown on Youtube, 2) Shown at a presentation for a general audience who are not AGSers.

Dave Gilbert is my hero!  :=

Walrus:
The Gameasutra article gives the details, but in a nutshell it was hosted by the New York chapter of the IGDA (independent gaming development association), and it took place in the NYU Woolworth building.  There were about 130 people there.  One of whom was our very own "Big Brother," who managed to squeak onto the waiting list and got in at the last minute.

Wow congrats! :)
I love IGDA meetings; I usually join the ones made in my own city, too.

I just finished reading the article and watching the videos.  How cool was that?  Congratulations Dave!  I'm green with envy.  I don't want to get all "over-used Dr. Seuss graduation gift" on you, but with the determination, skill, and resourcefulness that you're demonstrating in this little endeavor of yours, "Oh the places you'll go!"  Keep up the good work!
