Might wanna fix the YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yaj_aGRU1DI

Being one of the mirror hosts, it'd be nice if I actually had the time to play the game early and tell people how important it is they download it when it's released. :P

Folks, please do me a favor. TV-Cez needs our help. Please go to this site and tell him how excited you are. That's no joke. Please, do it now. The situation is serious.

A little bird just told me (actually it was Emily Morganti in the official press release :)) that the second episode is now available for download. For obtuse reason you still have to register on the site however, and I've conveniently forgotten my login. But it's there to get now if you want it hard enough.

It's got some nice features, and the option to turn off the narrator voice is very welcome.  I don't think this will turn into a KQ version of what Tales of Monkey Island became for the MI series anytime soon though.  >:(

Why are they doing this? This is a major barrier to spreading the game.

Aside from that, does this chapter actually have puzzles in it?

No idea about the registering thing I'm afraid, as they count me as "press" (!), I've just been emailed a direct download link.

There are indeed real puzzles in this one - not sure how many yet, but it is a proper adventure game whereas the first episode was really just an introduction to the plot.

You'll probably get more from this episode if you're familiar with KQV, I think.

Blah blah blah.

EDIT: Seriously - http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=9411.msg297376#msg297376 - you expect people to believe that you get a ban warning on their forums every time someone insults you? Give us a break.

I've read the whole posts of you KQIX-Team. As a forumite, I really never liked any kind of similar approach. Now to break down your posts. There goes my list of favorites:

I receive lots of PMs. Most people send me ideas and corrections they would like to see in the remake. I haven't received a single negative message about the project yet. You would be surprised if you knew all the names of these people. They praise you but at the same time they explain ME what's all wrong with YOUR game. Funny, isn't it? No, it isn't. It isn't at all. But what is the reason for that? Why are they so awed? Look at your post and you'll find the answer.

That's a lie. Cause I'm sure TheHero at least pmed you once. So carrying on.

Have you ever made a game?
Seriously a game?
And let alone a remake from scratch?

The answer is no. King's Quest Silver Lining isn't your kind of game, learn to live with it. Arguing about it won't make the game better, or any game. At least not with your infantile approach. Grow up. Already. There are tons of other games. Don't be such a f#^%* purist, damn it! You said your opinion in countless parts of this and the KQTSL forum as well. We are completely aware of what it is.

You can go and protest on Activision. Btw where is the game you promised? Mhh?
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Hehe. Well, okay...
Hey, my Hero! Where's that PM? You owe me a PM! I want that PM! :D

I'm only going to say this once.

Don't bring your petty squabble with the Silver Lining Crowd here.  I don't care if it's the shittiest game ever made, suck it up and go do something
constructive with your time instead of muckraking on any forum you can get attention on or you'll find yourself very unwelcome very quickly.

If you're going to make your parody of their game, fine, make it.  I don't have a problem with that.  However, I do have a problem with you stirring the shitpot on this forum to try and gather support for your ridiculous crusade against TSL.

And yes, I read your trolling thread on their forums.  They showed exceptional candor by tolerating your constant barbs without banning you.  If you bring that shit here like you're trying to do, I can guarantee you'll last about as long as a hot dog in an alley of hobos.

Not to mention the fact that The Silver Lining is FREE. If the adage "You get what you pay for" really is true, we're all getting a goddamn BARGAIN with TSL. If you had paid $30 for the game (or even $20 or, hell, $10!) I could see a reason to complain about the short lengths of each episode, but... come on now, KQIX-Team... we cut you a little slack with your remake of a fan sequel, because the art actually was pretty good and some of us could actually see a reason for making such a game, even if it's only out of protest.

But TSL is free, so what are you complaining about? Go find some other game to play then.

We all have to pay for free games. We pay (life)time and we pay money. Who has to pay all that internet hours it took me to download that 800 MB monster? It's me.

When are you going to reimburse me for the (life)time I've wasted reading your posts?

Vel

It has become very rare for me to post here nowadays, but I do believe I need to have my say.

TSL, or KQ9, as it was formerly known, has been in development for what, 7-8 years? It was one of the first fan projects I saw on the internet, and it is a little marvel that is being released. The team deserves a huge bow for making this happen, as they have put immense effort over the course of several years to bring us a closure to the KQ saga. Mind you, for free. Just because of their inspiration and determination.

Although it is less relevant to what I am saying, I do believe the two released episodes to be of great quality, especially for a free game. True, the first episode was short, and this one isn't "The longest journey" either, but still, they offer ~5 hours of gameplay(and cutscenes) together, which is as much as you can say for any free adventure game. Ken and Roberta Williams also seem to like the game, voicing their praise with a letter to the creators.

That you, "KQIX-Team", whoever stands behind that alias, should with such persistence put all your effort into mocking the admirable effort of Phoenix online is nothing but a disgrace to yourselves. Whoever you are. The source of such venom is beyond me.
