Hi AGS community! Firstly I want to start by pointing out that this game is not being made on AGS, but after speaking to Mods and the rest of the amazing AGS community in attendance at Adventure X I've decided to share it with everyone anyway! I feel a bit out of place on the Construct2 forums as there are no other adventure games on the engine as far as I'm aware, so If you'll have me, I'd love to join the AGS family and be among adventure game pros!!

The Story

A serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Victorian London, and private investigator Sydney Emerson has hit a new low between finding lost dogs and receiving alleyway beatings. A turn of events sees Sydney forgoing his selfish nature and thrusting himself into perilous and increasingly surreal situations, walking the line between dreams and reality.

Explore the seedy streets of Victorian London, searching the slums, taverns, opium dens and even Sydney's dreams and hallucinations for leads. Meet a cast of interesting, insane and eccentrically British characters, and hunt a killer while exploring the deeper human condition.

I grew up using AGS, making games using RPG maker sprites as I was terrible at drawing, and I most definitely wouldn't be making this game if it wasn't for AGS!

Thanks for your time! I've already met some of the AGS community through my Kickstarter page and at AdventureX, and look forward to hearing feedback from a lot more people!

qptain Nemo

Sounds and looks incredibly appealing. I'll be looking forward to it. :)

Thanks for coming along and showing Alex, and welcome to the AGS boards! I'm certainly intrigued by the game and really like this interview you did at AdventureX (cos I'm sorry I didn't get to explore your game at the show).

That said, I just backed you and have spread some word. I hope it helps :) Nice to meet you, and your sister, who seems equally passionate as you do about these kind of games!

Brainchild

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

I'm glad you like the interview Mods, I thought I'd go to pieces in front of a camera but Michael is just so friendly! It was great to meet you too, my sister was so excited to meet people who'd actually played even the most obscure games in her collection! Thank you for backing, I really appreciate the support :)

Grim

It was nice meeting you at AdvX. I wish you good luck with your project! Really liked it. The flying fish is awesome;)

Don't forget to go crazy with those dreams the protagonist is having- that is by far my favorite thing about the game and there's a lot of potential there.

Brainchild

It was nice meeting you too, thanks for all the great advice about voice acting!

Don't worry, I'll really explore the dream angle, they're going to get pretty interesting as the game progresses!

FlyingMandarine

That interview was nice, so I just backed the project; the graphics and atmosphere really got to me.

I wish you the best of luck with the remaining three days!

Brainchild

Thanks FlyingMandarine :-D I'll be posting a video interview with Adventure-Treff in tonight's update with a bit more info about the game

Ali

Hello,

I was a bit flustered when we spoke at AdventureX, but Nelly liked your game so I've just become a backer. Good luck!

Incidentally, I made a tiny and not very good adventure game using construct 2 a while ago.

Brainchild

Hi Ali, thanks for backing! I thoroughly enjoyed both of your choose your own adventures, I'll have to coax some friends along to one of the comedy club performances.

I'm honoured to have the approval of Nelly herself, I'm glad she enjoyed it!

I really like the tiny game, it was very atmospheric for something so short!

Brainchild

For those who haven't had a chance to play it yet, a demo of the game's prologue is now available! I'd love to hear your feedback.

The game has also entered Greenlight Voting!

It was nice to see your game at the convention. I can't wait to see more after I tried it, albeit briefly. Loved the ambience and feel.

I will check your demo and kickstarter campain.

Brainchild

Thank you! It was great meeting you, I loved playing Nefasto's Misadventure, and so did my girlfriend!

Andail

Congratulations on making the goal, Alex!
Someone linked screenshots of this game to me, asking if I was involved somehow, so I guess that means it looks really good :)

Brainchild

Thank you so much Andail :-D

I'm looking forward to getting some pointers from you walk cycle blog post :)

Nice one Alex!

Those were a tense last few minutes. I never realized at the end of campaigns people start pulling their pledges out. Crazy realtime money!

What matters though is you reached your goal - well done!!

Stupot

Well done Alex.  You look genuinely touched and happy in the 'thank you' video. :)
I wasn't able to back, I'm afraid, but really glad it got funded and will certainly be looking to buy the game when it's out :)
