What should I use? Resolution, color depth, etc.

It's not about policeing the forum or being offensive. It's simply because you have to follow the rules, and you didn't. There are rules for starting production threads that state,Ã,  for example, that you have to include two in-game screenshots and different type of information about the game. You did not post two in-game screenshots and that's why the thread was locked. I'm guessing that it was so blatant that a mod just got irritated and didn't see it fit to tell you why.

I for one am eternally grateful for the rules and enforcing them, especially the production thread rules. It restricts games that haven't had much work done on them and that's a really good thing. I wouldn't want to have hundreds of crap threads that have basically only been started on an idea of a game. You just have to be able to show some work.

This is the only forum i have ever joined in which you have to take a test to become a member.. it's not as if were part of an elite society.

But we are.

I would say low-res and maybe even 256 colour. Something along the lines of Sins of the Father would be brilliant.

Also I think you should play as Al for part of the game and not be able to interact or pick up.

Quote from: Arakoth on Fri 17/03/2006 13:22:31i would like the to unlock the topic in the 'production' part of this forum, and if not explain why it was locked in the first place..
The thread was locked because you didn't follow the rules.

Quote from: Arakoth on Fri 17/03/2006 13:22:31so i ask of the mod's that monitor and use this forum to be less opressive, and realise that if they want users to follow strict rules, that they havn't informed them of, maybe they should inform them.
Are you serious?  So ... we [the moderators] have to inform EVERY member of the rules?  Hmmm ... how should we go about doing that?  Maybe sticky threads at the top of EVERY forum clearly labled "FORUM RULES - READ BEFORE POSTING" would be a good idea?  I'll run it past CJ right away!

Quote from: Arakoth on Fri 17/03/2006 13:22:31i will probably get my account deleted and my posts deleted too for this, as one could argue that it is not helpful.. i would tend to disagree.
Delete your account?  Sheesh ... what do you think we run around here ... a facist police state or something??

Seriously man ... allow me to give you some advice:  When you're the "new guy" at a place, you don't come in and start telling people how it should run.  You hang out, follow the rules, and if you don't like it, leave it.

As for making a quantum leap game ... I think it's a great idea.  But you've hi-jacked an incredibly out of date thread to promote a game you've shown nothing for but a title screen (which doesn't follow the forum's rules anyway) and you're posting about your "in production" game in the wrong forum.

Stop using this thread to promote your game.

Stop complaining.

When you have two (in game) screenshots, some serious progress made, and have read the forum rules completely and are ready to follow them; open a new thread in the Games in Production board where it belongs.

Peace, I'm out.

Oh behave, Darth, we know you love abusing that power.  I know I do!

Seriously though, I've found this forum (largely due to CJ) to be one of the more laid-back and unoppressive I have ever been a part of.  Hell, if I had my way there'd be ip range bannings, so count your lucky stars!
