This isn't about 'winning or losing' it's about actually supporting and encouraging people who, for whatever reason, have strayed from one or more finished games and give them that big push to get something out the door and a sense of completion -- so who cares how far in development they are?

No, I get that. I was just wondering if the format was suited to MAGS, which is a competition, when as you say the topic isn't about winning or losing. If it gets voted it'll make an interesting topic and if it doesn't somebody should start it as its own activity.

Well, there's been the release something thing, but people just got away with screenies. So this is like. Release a playable something version of that activity. Anyway, I'm going to close the vote on the 25th so carry on voting.

Okay so we have a winner! ProgZ's theme!!

Complete your game!

ProgZ I'm going to let this very loosely based, as the OROM. If you want to re-shape the theme to spice it up, please do post here, or pm me!

No, I only ask that everyone be encouraged to complete any game they've put on the side, no matter how close to completion it is.  If even one development hell game can be completed then it's worth it (chicky, Snake, I'm lookin' at you guys ._.).

Jared

What if we happen to have multiple games fairly close to completion, are we allowed to be crazy enough to attempt to finish a few of them in the space of a month?

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

No, stick with one game you really want to complete and do it. :)

Oh, by the way, just forgot, if anyone's interesting, here's the heartwarming 42 votes results:

Title: Complete your game (Title not a courtesy of ProgZ)

How about a mags that encourages anyone with unfinished games from any era to complete them in a month (at least enough to be playable)?  This may attract the interest of people like me who have several 25-75% finished full length games that for whatever reason we've abandoned.  This way everyone wins even if there has to be a courtesy 'win'.

I believe chicky also mentioned extensive interest in such an event, and if mags does not do it I may host a separate event to get some of the older games that fell off the map back on.

Also, if not mentioned before (I'm too lazy busy to read all the information here), I'll suggest that the topic could be 'complete your game, if you have a previously unfinished MAGS game, OR make a game following the guidelines of any previous MAGS competitions', provided you didn't enter that round at that time.

In this way, people who don't have an unfinished MAGS game could still participate in this round. (Well, actually it's like you pretend that you managed to create a game in a previous round and didn't finish it.)
