My "Company"

Well, it's just a logo to look cool in the forums.  While I am attempting to make a game, you would have to give "attempting" a very loose definition to apply it to what I have actually done.

As far as why it is what it is...
When you purchase a Bible, one of the options is to buy it with or without the words of Christ in red lettering.  This has led to an inside "joke" when someone is teaching on a passage where Christ is speaking.  He asks rehtorically, "How do I know Christ is speaking here?  I have a red letter Bible and it's red/read."  So I named my imaginary company Read Letter Entertainment, and put Read in red lettering so it would be pronounced RED and not REED.  My first game is planned to be a Christian game based on Ephesians 5.  As I am still in the writing stages, and my artistic skills are lacking, I expect it never to be completed without extensive help.

As for registering...
Why do I need to register an imaginary company with no products?  And if my imaginary company does produce a free product, does it really matter if the name is registered?

Very cool to see some Christian developers! Keep it up!
I'm composing the music for this game:

The first "company" I'd started was CopyPro Software. The name kind of implies what it was, we sold illegal disks of games. I was 12 at the time, and I made quite a buck on Monkey Island, Wolfensteijn 3D, and many other games.

I wrote my first "game" under that name, wich was written with... *laughs* prompt :P

I would change the prompt to a question, and listed the two options in it (like.. "go where? [south, north]") and south.bat and north.bat would be called when you typed south or north. It was basically a string of batch files together, but it worked ;)

Then, years later, I wrote a text-mode graphics library in QB45, which was called NHS (NightHawk Software Subs, because it was a collection of subs). After releasing a couple of scripts on the web (amongst which was a GIF loader for QB45, a choose your own adventure engine (which I still have, and I could script a game for it ;)) and some other small demos) I changed the name to Vohaul Enterprises.

By this time I'd pretty much gotten sick of coding in QB. I started doing stuff on the web, and currently I'm hosting 36 websites under the name Hostvoh Networks (hostvoh.net, so it works out well name-wise).

When I started work on DM:DBD, I chose "Sorry We're Closed Games" because I wanted a ridiculous, tongue in cheeck name. I'm still happy with it :)
Still here.

CMK2901

Mine's pretty simple.  My initials are CMK.  My username everywhere I go is CMK.

My "company" is:

Clever, ey?  I've been using this for a good 6-7 years...overall, I find the CMK looks and sounds pretty damn good.

When I first started getting into making games, with SUDS (point and click text adventures - really! It's great stuff, too), I wanted to create a company called "Remaking Software" - reason being, I'd only remake games.

At the copyright topic thing: In this case, it's extremly nice to live in the Federal Republic Of Germany. We don't even have to specify our copyright with (c), and violations against the "Urheberrecht" as it's called here can be punished with up to five years of sleeping in a nice, comfortable prison bed.  ;D

General Licencse Agreement For All Knollware Entertainment Stuff Try to steal any of my stuff and you'll have to fight the whole german bureaucracy (not nice. trust me). If you are dumbass enough to wound/damage/lose/burn/etc. yourself/your computer/anything else while doing something which could have to do remotedly with Knollware, that's your fault, not ours. Don't try anything. If you want to meet me in front of someone to-be-called "Your Honor", steal something I own instead. Hope you get it. If not, I don't care, either.

I did a few logo's for some games and one was called Mucus Arts. I did a 'golden nose" with a drip animation  ;D

No company here.

But I'm a composer and a freelancer, registered and taxed as that. So it does count.

Plus a reason more to mention my website (always on my signature... :P)
