After I pre-ordered Gemini Rue [can't wait to play that one] , I'd like to
see your TOP 5 of favorite commercial AGS games you've bought and played.
Thanx  :)

EDIT: OK I must rephrase:
TOP X of  favorite commercial AGS games you've bought and played or probably wanna (or going to) buy.

Babar

Errr....none :(

I'm not much of a commercial AGSer.
* Babar hides as the crowds toss trash at him for not supporting the community
I did get the Shivah when it was free for a couple of days (although I had played it already before when it had originally been released for that MAGS competition).

At least I don't pirate them either! :P
The ultimate Professional Amateur

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

The only AGS games I've actually bought are the Blackwell games, I bought them in a bundle at an insanely low price. I got my money's worth like crazy. Simply loved all three of them. If this deal is still available I recommend EVERYONE to go pay up.

I tried yesterday but the deal isn't available anymore, the bundle now goes for $19.99.

Nikolas

Blackwell series
Diamonds in the Rough (Yes, I worked on the game but I did enjoy it very much as a game as well!)
I will order Gemini Rue once out!

Stupot

I recently coughed up for the Blackwell trilogy, and I'm still on the 3rd game but they're probably my favourite AGS purchase.

I don't have a top 5, but I've also put my hands in my pockets for, Super Jazz man, The Shivah and Puzzle Bots... as well as Time Gentleman Please and Downfall (both of which I somehow didn't actually finish, even though they were good).

There might be one or two others, but I can't recall at this moment.

I bought "Downfall" and, while finding way too gross, liked it much.

Dualnames

I'm gonna say Downfall, it was just plain amazing.
and there's Diamonds in the Rough being a second one to the list. ;)
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Are there even five commercial AGS games? :P

Seriously though, there are so many free AGS games that I haven't played yet, that I'm unlikely to get to the commercial ones soon. Hm, top X? Not counting "deluxe" editions of normally-free games... I'd probably buy Puzzlebots because Nanobots was hilarious. I've been meaning to give Blackwell a shot but haven't gotten around to it. I've played the demo of that AGDI Wild West game but it didn't appeal to me. I'd be hard-pressed to name a fourth commercial AGS game, really.

...oh wait, Fatman. I've heard it was good, never got around to playing that, either. I need more free time :)

I would have to replay all the commercial games I have ever bought to give you a top 5 etc.
But I really loved the third Blackwell game!! I had previously bought the first 2 but never finished them, it was only untill I bought and finished the third I replayed and finished the first 2!

I've allready pre-ordered Gemini Rue and also donated a chunk of money towards Vince's game, looking forward for both of those!

I don't know of many alternatives to the Blackwell series to these three are the only ones I actually have. I am curious to see where Gemini Rue will rank among them - I suspect it to go on top. I am equally excited to see how Primordia(sp?) is as well as Blackwell #4.

all the Blackwells - probably my favorite original adventure game series of the last decade
Downfall
TGP!
Puzzle Bots

The Shivah too - it's edgier than the others, but noticeably shorter and weaker.

I would like to play Jazz Man and Diamonds in the Rough in the future. Gemini Rue is definitely going to be a blast. Earl Bobby looking for a Loo already bought and waiting for me to play it.

I respect Enter The Story series for what it attempts to do, but I prefer to play games with original stories and am not drawn to it.

I haven't played too many but I love The Shivah and Blackwell despite not.. uhm.. ahem... exactly fully completing them... and stuff.

I've also played a demo for Al Emmo which I wasn't crazy about and the freeware version of Fatman which I thought was good but possibly a mistake to make it a commercial product.

But anyway in my limited experience I have to say my favourite is Ben There, Dan That 2. I chuckled my face off.

From best to less best:

Time Gentlemen, Please!
Blackwell Unbound
The Adventures Of Fatman
Blackwell Legacy

I can't choose the last game, not that it would really matter since there's good chance the whole list will have to be rewritten when Gemini Rue is out.

xenogia

I own all of Gilbert's games.  I also purchased Downfall and I've pre-ordered Gemini Rue as well.  They are all good in their own way :) All worth the money I paid for.

Baron

Time Gentlemen, Please! was easily the best $6 I ever spent.  You will never find a better laughs per dollar ratio (and that includes hilarious freeware games since you can't divide by zero -you just can't!).  I recommend it to anyone.

After that the only other AGS games I've paid for would be a few of Dave's Blackwell series.  They were good, just not really my thing.

xenogia

Understandable Baron.  It's like comedy games for me (they have been done to death).

Last time I checked there were about 20 (but that's counting the deluxe Yahtzee games, which are now free). Add at least Puzzlebots and the latest Blackwell, as well as several more episodes in the Enter the Story series, to those. And Cosmos Quest 3 was commercial for a while, wasn't it?

Of the ones I've played, I'd rank:

Time Gentlemen, Please!
The Shivah
ummm... probably The Blackwell Legacy
The Zone

I didn't care for Downfall, Al Emmo, or Mystery Manor/Oakhaven Plantation.

dbuske

My favorite is "mannequin."
Nice horror game.

What if your healing comes through tears...

Snarky

I haven't heard of a commercial AGS game called "Mannequin," and if you mean "The Marionette," that isn't commercial.
