Hey its awsome!!.. so cool man!!

i had preblems seeing the new screenshots, so i pasted the adress of the pics on the nav bar, and viola!!.. i saw them, cool!!.. GREAT!.. i like the desert one!

i have two questions, One.. can i help you in any way!... and two.. can you give us a progress report.. or maybe a small demo.?

;D.. (demo would be nice)

AndyKart

So when is the demo gonna be available?..

DEMO PLEASE!

Sinister

After a week of working on the game, a few hours cause time is ticking away.... the first main puzzle is almost ready. (first sequence of the game..), as for the main storyline and puzzles evrything is finished... i also worked away on the BOX COVER!.. (this isnt a real box cover but, its the graphic intend to use to promote the game, based on the Sierra classic boxes!)..

also, i wont be making a demo, i rather finish the game as quickly and as great as i can, ... but i do need some help in one area, and thats the music department, so if anyone wants to send me some Mid's that they think might fit into the game, i'll gladly take them.

DanClarke

can i recommend adding a character that uses an amusing way to speak english, resulting in funny phrases, rather like the boy on the stall in Broken Sword one. Looks good though mate, keep it up!!!

TheDude

Although it's obvious those 2 guest posts up there are from you !.. ?.. !!!.. )..
I hope you can finish this game!

Progress Report:

After a few days of working for a few hours, when time was available i managed to finish the first puzzle. (no not just one puzzle) by this i mean the first set of puzzle sequences that lead to a scene. Since the main world programming work is divided into (3 puzzles, or 3 sequences) i think its an ok job. Slow but still moving.

Also the website has been updated to include more correct info, (in the start the game was called, Lord of Kings: Destiny of Men. Although in the forums it had its debut as Quest of Destiny a name i liked better).. things like that and a few pics.

haha, very nice work Sinister. I've been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at it, since we've known each other way beyond AGS. Anyways, here's what I have to say:

The game starts out with a really well done main menu, awesome music too. From here, you can pick to view the introduction, play the game, go through the credits or exit.

The introduction is about... 10-15 minutes long I would say. It is very well done, excellent dialog. The storyline is very nice aswell, I won't give any hints towards it though so it'll be secret until it's released. Although the backgrounds are really cool in it.

From what I've played, I've seen 1 tiny quest and talked to loads of people. Walked through a bunch of desert, and done some almost pointless action as it seems. The game has a bit of humor in, and the music fits in really nicely. I'll get back to playing and maybe I'll think of some more stuff to add to this.

Sinister

Alright after two weeks of slow, and rather uneven programming i can say that the second sequence of puzzles is done (or the second mini quest).

Although i am sticking to the original idea that i will not release a demo, i sent the demo to Ravenfusion a member of this AGS community, whom was a very good friend whom i hadnt seen on the web for a long time.

He's feedback, was very usefull.. and this has made me rethink about the whole demo idea. But i will decide on this issue till later..

As a part of a please the crowd strategy, i would like to ask all of you to tell me what kind of Monster would you like to see in the desert?

-Any monster idea that you have will be glady accepted.

DanClarke

a giant snake or lizard would go nicely with the desert theme.

Sinister

This is the latest screenshot of the game, features some new improvements on details.

Camels and horses ( but mostly camels ) are often used in desert scenes too.

 :-\ Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Uh, this game looks like an
Adventure Game spinoff of Prince Of Persia...I won't make final critisizms until I've played it. Reply, I wanna learn more about it

Hollister Man

Nah, its just a adventure in the style of the original classic Sierra adventure games, namely King's Quest and Quest for Glory.  ;)
That's like looking through a microscope at a bacterial culture and seeing a THOUSAND DANCING HAMSTERS!

Your whole planet is gonna blow up!  Your whole DAMN planet...

Sinister

Yes, its like Hollister Man says, its a game that fallows the tradition of original classics, mostly in King's Quest style.

I have managed to decide myself, and i believe that i will release a demo, but that means that i'll have to read the game up, for demo release so that might take a while.

keep those ideas, comming.

Im looking only for monster ideas.... quick deaths... not any kind of puzzles, so it doesnt have to have any story link.. its just for when.. example.. you step on a wrong stone.. a 3 headed chimera comes out and kills you!..

hey thats not a bad idea. :P

Hrmm. . .Ã,  deasert creature?Ã,  What about a scorpion?Ã,  Scorpions almost go hand-in-hand with deserts.Ã,  Plus it'll also help with the King's Quest feel you were talking about because both KQ5 and KQ7 had scorpions in it.Ã,  5 had the area where once you enter it the scorpion comes up and stings you for an instant death, and in 7 they had the giant scorpion.Ã,  Although 7's was more an obstical to get past.Ã,  But it still eventually killed you if you dwalded there too long.
