Only, I think right clicking to bring up the GUI is a bad idea. For one, people wont be able to cycle thru the icons with right click. Also, people are more used to moving the cursor to the top/bottom of the screen to bring up the GUI. If it aint broke dont fix it is what I always say.

That depends, Neole. It's not always Sierra or Lucasarts SCUMM GUIs but there are also the Verb Coin like in The Curse of Monkey Island and Full Throattle. But only you hold down the left mouse button. Well I agree with that the GUI is a little bit clumsy since a verb coin doesn't take on so much space.

Snake, what does the different commands of your GUI, like the tail? Everything isn't so obvious that you think "okay, it's like that.", if you know what I mean. I look forward to this game.

By the way, that Hirum have no vinsible mouth, is that inspired or taken from Croc: The Legend of the Gobbos where the gobbos (cute little troll-like creatures) have no mouths vinsible because of all that fur? Just wondering.

I don't like the idea of cycling the cursors, personally. I think sometimes it is tedious where you want a specific cursor, and you skip it, making you scroll again. Har har, I usually do that and it irritates me ;)

I agree 100%. But I want something that's just a tad bit different from every other game. I like the idea of having it at the bottom instead of the top aswell. In anycase, don't people have to get used to each games individual differences? This interface still isn't final yet. I've been brainstorming a bit, but there won't be anything final until I release the real demo.

The first 4 are the default regulars; interact, look, talk and walk. Since Hirum has a tail, he is able to use that aswell for different things. Something you might like is that Hirum will have to learn how to use his tail, since he was only turned into a monkey the day before. So he's not quite used to it yet. During the course of the game, he get's more adapted to his abilities.

Never played it. It how I imagined him in the game. Looks cute and maybe a little cuddly, but he's got one hell of a devious mind ;)

I think right clicking to bring the GUI up is a rocking idea. I hate scrolling through to get to the right mode. Maybe you can make shortcut keys like LEC did to get certain interaction modes though....

Argh - Looks great! I wouldn't mind testing this game... ;D

Btw: The GUI reminds me of this game I've just started playing: "In The Dead Of The Night", where all the options and commands pop up if you hold in the right mouse button.
Doesn't sound bad at all!
