Hello,

I work on my sundays on a game called "The Curse of the Whale God" which will be a -french- game set in Paris in 1957, some places in France (Lascaux cave for who may know about it), Maurician Island, Kerguelen Island and some alien places.

The hero is an accountant in a insurance company and he has got two sidekicks (a female scientist and a happy moron).  He first has to gather clues about a sunken ship, supposed to be hit by a whale. Then the plot widens...

Ask if you want to know the whole plot.

As for now :
Story : 80%
Dialogs : 40%
Character design : 20%
Music : 50%
Gathering lots of pictures about the places of the game : 90%
Understanding How AGS works : 70% (expect to be sollicited on the technical forum !)
Everything Else : 0%

You can check some of the first visuals there : http://www.le-kaki.com/ae/whalegod.htm

Moreover I made another full-tested game called "Filaments" but it's an interactive fiction game in french made with INFORM (100% script under notepad, no interface), which is a 40 rooms, 500ko game I invite you to play and download at :
http://www.le-kaki.com/ae/

There are some visuals over there, too.

See you soon,

JB

Ah! A french game ! Great great, I really like the sketches, I'm looking forward for this one!

Thanks for your feedback, though I ain't the one who made the sketches ;-)

(I will answer in english since it might interress other people).

Watel, the hero, is charged by his employer to find out how a boat insured the day before by the company sank nearby Bretagne. Since the captain invokes that a whale hit the boat and sank hit, and it looks suspicious (fraud), Watel goes first to Concarneau and investigates, meeting there among other people Wonda (Treiffsicherheit's assistant) and professor P.

Looks like, nevertheless, that the whale story was true. Back in Paris, he seeks out the help of a former school love, now scientist, called Gwendal, and a moron friend of his, Bouli, now owning a fishing shop.

After gathering enough clues, the boss of Watel points him to a scientist working at the Louvre for some reasons you will discover soon. They go then to Lascaux looking for a proto-religious site focused on whales (in prehistory Lascaux was near the Ocean), where they are trapped by the evil guy of the story.

They manage to get out with the help of Felicie, an organisation wich is the "special division of the french special forces", after having discovered more about the plot.

Back in Paris, Watel's boss explains him the Curse that stroke him and 3 of his friends as they were doing their military duties in the french navy in 1888, and rebelled against their sergeant and killed him and then abandonned on Kerguelen Island, where they found a mystical pool holding a giant, sleeping golden whale whose water gave them a long life, but also mental powers. Watel's Boss, for instance, never sleeps.

They get some infos to by Felicie and suspecting that everything points them to Kerguelen, go there passing by Maurician Island. It's a though taks, since french navy crosses around and feral whales sank approaching ship.

What will they meet over there? Is this too late? etc...

Just have to make the game now ;-)

If you like french games, I invite you to play at Filaments, which has a very good story that holds more than meet the eyes.

Wow, your concept art looks awesome!  Best of luck with your game.

I'll have to brush up on my French, it's fallen into ruin as of late...
