And i have some good news! I have decided to change the graphics style, from the old basic adventurey style, to a Cult II style birdseye view.

Sorry to put you down, but I think the first style view was better. In the bird's eye view screenshot it's difficult to identify what everything is-oh you've changed it whoops I missed that bit!

Darth Mandarb

I'm thoroughly confused ...

Are the screenshots in your first post no longer valid?  They all look like the same basic style to me.  Also, if the screenies in your first post are no longer being used you should remove them.  However, if this is the case, and the second two screenies you provided aren't finished:
QuoteAlso, please excuse the sloppyness, the room is going to be cleaned up a bit soon)]
It would appear to me you have no completed "in-game" screenshots (as the second [new] one is from a cutscene) ...

So what's going on?

PsychicHeart

Hey, if you read my edit for the new screenies, i've decided to stick with the old graphic style. I think that the old style looks better.

hey, good news everyone!
i have started work with Hornet City on a gun-system, so at certain parts in the game, you'll pick up your rifle and start doin' what vengeful drunken cops do best.
This addition shouldn't slow the development process too much, but it's something to look out for and look forward to.
Cheers,

Howdy,
after long thinking, i have decided to change the setting from a glitzy-glam city area to a more Exorcism Of Emily Rose-esque sort of setting.
This won't change the plot of characters or anything like that, but obviously this will set the graphics back a little bit.
The reason is i just think that the Village surrounding will provide for more open-world adventuring as opposed to linearity. The name change from Hornet City to Hornet Village also works well too i think.

Unfortunately, i have decided to scrap this, because i want HV to be an all-adventure game, without FPS elements.
Well, that's all, i won't deliver any more shocking changes.
Oh by the way i got a sex change  ;D.
Well, i'll be off.
Cheers

although i dont see how the removal of guns makes it any more of an AG, i'd like to see how you put that kind of plot in that kind of setting.
i used to be indeceisive but now im not so sure!

Nacho

Hammerite: Removing guns will make it 0 points more AdventureGamish. I can remember heart of China and Police quest, which had guns, and you had to use them in certain moments.

I'd like to see the gunnery feature in the game, Fluke, could you reconsider that?
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Okay, after much reconsideration, i have decided to put the gunnery feature back in, so as to add some Driv3r/True Crime/All those other GTA knockoff-ism to it,
and make it more an Action Adventure game, as enemies will come chasing after you, and you'll have to switch cursor to the weapon you are holding (either pistol, shotgun, assault rifle, uzi, sniper rifle or melee weapon) and then aim with crosshairs where you want to shoot/throw/hit.
This may or may not be at the expense of the adventure part of it, let's hope not.
Well, i'll be off.
Cheers

EDIT: Disregard some of the above. I have decided it will be easier to make levels that are only on-rails shooting, and some that are purely adventure.
On the plus, the character doing the on-rails shooting sequences will be a hot chinese Burst Angel-looking character. Huzzah!

Birdseye view? As far as I recall, there weren't any adventure games(don't count Indy, MI and SQ, they weren't ALL birdseye) that used that king of style.

Well, I remember the excellent DreamWeb used that style of overhead view, but it's about the only one I can think of. Fantastic game too.

This looks kinda intriguing, look forward to seeing how it turns out mate.

of course it wont, guns dont make it any less of an adventure game as me and farlander have said.
