I honestly don't know how you do it. I haven't played any of the Blackwell games as of yet but from what I've seen...wow...great work! :D

New screenies look great.

Look forward to picking this one up when it's released :).

Hey Dave. Nice to see the new shots. Very excited about the game and glad things are back on track. I checked out luminous arts when I got back to the UK after my trip, and their stuff is extremely good.

The sprites work well with the new style. They are a very recognisable style.

great looking game.  I've played the other Blackwell game's demos, but I haven't gotten around to purchasing them yet.  But I'm always impressed by the quality of work that goes into this series, and this one is no exception.  I know when I first saw the $20 tag I thought it had to have something to warrant it, seeing how Legacy was only $15.  Now after seeing the screens the deuce 10's are well worth the quality.

But now I have to ask, now that there's a third installment coming out, are you planing on (in the future some time after this installment) releasing a trilogy collection?

Dave Gilbert

Hey Ed.  Thanks. :)

There's a good reason for the price hike, and not just because of the production values or a simple desire to make more money.  A year after I released the first Blackwell game, I started selling them on the casual portals and they became very popular there.  Unfortunately, the portals always $20 for each game, so the fact that it was offered for $15 on the Wadjet Eye Games website looked kind of sketchy and inconsistent (and pissed people off when they bought the game on a portal and then saw it offered for less on my site).   The portals weren't going to lower their price and I couldn't justify raising mine,  so I decided that all future titles would match the price of the portals to avoid this kinda thing.

Doing some kind of collection is something I plan on doing.  The series isn't going to be over by any means, but there'll definitely be something.

First I would just like to say the new screens looks amazing!
And I will definatly buy this one aswell when it comes out!
(Still unfortnatly got to finish all your other games, right now I wont have time but in the near future I hope to get more time for fun and play ;D.)

Secondly, a PRO DVD collection in the future would be awesome to see ;).
And would be a "MUST HAVE" for me.

Good luck to you and your team!

Peder Johnsen.

A collection would force me to repurchase all the games, which, given the amount of time already spent on playing the games multiple times, is going to force me to buy everything you release.

Hell, if you brought out Blackwell Galoshes I'd have to get them.

Now there's an interesting merchandise idea!

As long as a DVD collection doesn't mean less bonus features in the downloadable episodes, I'm all for it. The DVD could also include your webcasts.

FAN ART CONTEST ANNOUNCED!

Cross posted from the Wadjet Eye blog.  Figured I'd give you AGSers a heads up. :)

Hello all.  A disturbing fact has been brought to my attention.  It's been entirely too long since we had a fan art contest.

There is a reason for that.  Normally, the big prize for winning a fan art contest is a free copy of the upcoming game.  That couldn't happen this time around, since the upcoming game won't be released until at least the fall.  So any fan art contests had to be postponed.

However!  That has all changed.  You might have noticed the little graphic on the right column of main page, linking you to the Wadjet Eye Games merchandise store. You can now purchase Wadjet Eye related mugs, shirts, posters, hats, and all sorts of stuff.  After all, wouldn't the world be a better place if more people wore Rabbi Stone on a t-shirt?

There's an added bonus to this store as well. I now had items I could give away as prizes!  Lo and behold, a new fan art contest was born!

So, for the entire month of August, I'll be holding another fan art contest.  Send in your various renderings, drawings, sketches, paintings, or whatevers of any characters from any Wadjet Eye Game.

The three top winners will receive a prize of their choice: a mug, a t-shirt, or a poster.

The three runners up will receive a nice collection of fridge magnets with various Wadjet Eye characters on them.

Everyone else will receive a consolation prize.  Nobody leaves this contest empty handed!

More details (among other things) within this brand spanking new vidcast:

[Can't embed youtube videos, so GET THE VIDCAST HERE]

Email all entries to me(dave at wadjeteyegames dot com), or pm them to me on the forum.

Cheers!

Is it okay to send in fan art just for the sake of fan art and ask NOT to get a prize?

Besides, I'm still 'in the clouds' on this shipping things from country to country thing; don't know the procedures.

Dave Gilbert

Hey Vertigo.  If you want to enter and not receive a shipped prize, feel free!  There's a digital prize for all who enter so you'll at least get something.

Slight update to the fan art contest!  I was asked by a number of folks to create some kind of grand prize for the best piece of art.  I thought about it, and here's what I came up with.

There's one minor character in the game that has not been designed yet.  Win the contest, and we'll design that character to look like you!  The character can be male, female, oldish, or youngish, so the prize can be given to anyone.

The deadline has also been extended to September 9th.

Cheers,

-Dave

Hi all!  Been awhile.  The infamous PlayFirst Project is keeping me massively busy, but I still have managed to give Blackwell a little love.  Or rather, Ian has.  He has updated the characters portraits and given them a more painted look.

Aiming to have an extended demo out by Halloween, so stay tuned.
