Meph, you misunderstood. he used smilies, therefore his post is allowed because smilies make you exempt from forum rules.

sorry for the lack of updates everyone, as you know im doing a degree, between that, working, seeing gf, doing website, DJing etc, i havent been able to fit any time in for new game stuff.
But im not ditching the project, im just waiting for another burst of inspiration to hit me so i can start on it again.

fovmester

I know that feeling. Has happened to me many times. It's strange how much time school and gf:s take. ;)

Crikey just stumbled across this thread
whoa well what can I say hehe simply you have talent
Like the whole general feel of the game and artwork it's coming along very nicely
:)
This is what the adventure game genre needs someone like yourself who can kick start it back off!
Take your time over it hehe dont't rush until everything is perfect!
and make sure the storyline and puzzles are great
because what's a game with the graphics but no storyline
played a few in my time
lol
Yeah but this has to be the most anticipated game in the forum and if this got popular with freeware would you consider cashing in?
you could give lucasarts a run for there money lol
Like what you have done and your motivation it's great just what this industry needs to resurrect the adventure genre
all the best and keep the news coming
great stuff!

Thanks for the reply mate,
Ill be honest ive had no time at all for the game for the last month or so, reason being an intense degree brief ive had, thats just taken all my time (that and the arrival of a babyPS2 with GTQAA:SA and ISS4 ;)) but as ive said the game is not dead and will never die.

However i may be going over a few changes with the main character, as shes currently a bit too bland. Im also looking at creating a disturbingly simple test frame for the game, to get all of the puzzles/scripting/gui right, before i drop the graphics on top.

Ill get some more little bits and bobs up soon.

Thanks for everybodies' patience.  :)

DanClarke

well ive just finished a 3 month college brief, was an absoloute nightmare, but now i can get back to slowly wheeling on with the game. The plan is to start work on some more of the BGs for the 1st chapter, as i cant get enough time on a PC to start working on the programming.

I saw that the game was on so many peoples most wanted lists for 2005, and i think that's really cool, so thanks for everyone for not giving up hope.

Ill get something ready to post up for tomorrow morning, so check back.

On a side note, I also got my new Apple Mac, which will help greatly:

Dual 2.5ghz G5 Power Mac
1GB Ram
128MB Graphics (will be upgraded soon)
160gb HD
23" Phillips LDC Monitor
Liquid cooling

Makes tablet drawing so much easier, in that it's in total real time, there's no delay for complex brushes.

Updates coming over the next few days :)

Let me be the first to say ...

YESSSS!!!

Glad to know you're still working on it!  The new system sounds quite nice!

Keep on keepin' on man!

Let me be the second to say YESSSS!!!
Thanks for letting us know whats going on with the game. We are eagerly anticipating it. :)

Good to have you back! School can be tough sometimes!

How long has this game been in development? I remember seeing this about a year ago ( or a bit less ). It looks quite nice, and cant wait for it to be released.

Well, this topic was made on 08 Apr 2004

Yeah it's coming upto a year now, (wow, that has gone really quick) and development is painstakingly slow for a nuber of reasons:

-i dont have a pc myself, so it's v. difficult for me to do anything programming related atm.

-i'm doing a full time multimedia design BA which means a lot of my time gets sapped by that.

-Domenico also does a degree, so it's difficult to find time to hook up and get a lto done with it.

BUT rest assured the game will never be dropped, no matter how slow things go. We're gonna get together for a few days over easter and get on with some of it. I dont really care for things like percentages, because a percentage is only relevant to the product as a whole, so i don t find them to be totally accurate. I can say however that the story pretty much nailled from start to finished (and i mean as a whole, not just part 1 which will be the 1st installment)

I'll keep updating

Estaog

Wait, if you dont have a pc, how did you start a game? Do you go to your friends house or something?

the guy who's doing the developing works on PC, i myself am a Mac user. My dad has a pc for work, but it's difficult to put any time in on it because it's always being used.

Estaog

Oh didnt know that, makes sense.
