Hyperlinking in AGS Games?

I'm sure you've all seen it before: a "Visit [X-Company]'s website for more information" or "Click here to buy the full version" texts in games before - Or simply a hyperlinked logo that opens up the homepage of the developer.

I've searched thoroughly through here and even Google - But can find nothing on the subject. Is it at all possible to even call an external program? Because I could probably write a hyperlink caller in VB and make the call to the VB program inside AGS.

Help very much appreciated.
Cheers.

Ben

You can't run an external program from a game, unless it's another game made with AGS. Therefore, hyperlinking from an AGS game isn't possible..

Though you might be able to do it through the plugin API. So if you can figure out a way to write a plugin in Visual Basic, or just find a friendly C-programmer to help you out, hyperlinking could be possible..

Or use an installer program, and have one of the selections for the user to do, is to visit the website.

The installation program option isn't quite what I was after - but thanks anyway.

I'll try giving the VB thing a try.

Oh, by the way - Chris Jones isn't the only Chris in the world. A good idea may be to take the reserved word "Chris" off of YaBB's word list...

i could see why, just to stay away from confusion, and for his reputation. anyone could get mixed up, or some other chris could say something, and he may not want  any probs. like, for instance, a magazine could be doing a report on the engine and the forum, and they could get the wrong chris quote.
