A real noobie here, help me out please.

Hey. I've just started using Adventure Game Studio and I'm probably the biggest newbie to it ever. I think I understand the very basics of the program. But I don't know how to do things like import characters or anything. Also, I'm looking to make a game that has cool graphics like No Action Jackson, do I need to make these graphics by myself or can I download them from somewhere?

I don't see how its possible to make graphics like that... 

Anyway, hope you can help a newb get started!

Importing character function is mainly there for the sprites and functions of an already excisting character.
Like I have used it for importing an old AGS 2.62 character to use for AGS 2.7.(The 2.62 game was crappy so I started over )
You import #.cha files which include the character data. You can make such a file by using the export character button.
About the sprites, you do have to make them yourself. There are some sites which give you some sprites that you can use, but I'm to lazy to search for them. You can find those sites somewhere in these forums.

a) yes, you either need to make the graphics yourself, or you can put up a post in the sticky thread in the "adventure talk and chit chat" forum, "ACR - Need Help with your game" thread.

b) you must use descriptive thread titles, please. it helps with others who are doing forum searches, with people who may have similar questions.... which brings me to...

c) use the forum seach function. you could search for "import characters" and probably get a thousand hits... from other new people who have asked this question and we've answered, most of the time, to tell people to

1) read the manual, just skim it, get to know the terms and keywords
2) read the beginnners FAQ, it is linked to in the sticky threads in this beginners forum
3) follow the tutorial in the manual, which takes you through the basics, and is great.

I have quite a few good game ideas, so I'll let you know about them when I get to grips with AGS.

what style of graphics does No Action Jackson use?

search the forums for "No Action Jackson" then click on that thread in the completed games section. There are screen shots there, and thats why we make people post screenshots in their thread.   :
