Hourgame Saturday again!

I know the last one was just a week ago, but as I understand it the awards is somewhere around next saturday?
Anyway, to avoid collisions it's this week instead.

Inspired by how original Vukul was in writing the rules again instead of copy-pasting, I decided to also be original by being the first to copy-paste his text, with the rules written by bici:

What's an hourgame competition?
The purpose of Hourgame Saturday is, to encourage the amateur game-making, or to put it bluntly, to make you tear your ass off your chair and finally make something.
In this activity your task is to make an AGS game within a strict and a very short deadline (i.e. one hour).

When will it take place?
This hourgame session will take place on Feb 20, 2010, Saturday (what a coincidence!). It will start at 19:00GMT and participants will have an hour to make their games + 15 minutes to beta test / upload (i.e. deadline is 20:15GMT).
The time has been tested by several competitions already, so I think, it is generally suitable. If not, see below.

How do I participate?
A theme is set by the previous week's winner and by the contest's host in event of his/her absence. It will be annouced on IRC* and here.

Additional infos
- While it is not forbidden for the theme-setters to participate in the activity, their games cannot be voted for (to prevent accusations of cheating and to discourage regular participation).
- Instead, theme-setters are encouraged to draw trophies for the contest's winners.
- Making your game from scratch is strongly encouraged, though it is not forbidden to use music or artwork from public sources if you are allowed to (e.g. using public domain music tracks in your game is OK, but not really necessary). It is also possible to use a pre-existent AGS template for your game (e.g. that Verb-Coin GUI template).
- You cannot use the stuff you've made earlier, because this competition is about making something new.

Considering an entry. Haven't used the engine since 2005, but I'll give it a bashing!

Awesome mätzyboy :D

Arrrgh!

It's painful but...

I give up! Not used to the new AGS and I screwed up the EGO graphics by creating "shadows" that came out bright... And I'm overdue before having gotten further than one view in the editor. Couldn't figure out the room editor and spent too much time...

This is intriguing though! I might have another go next week...

Sorry chaps!

EDIT:
I'll share a little stuff anyway, so you can see where I got to.

Here's the main character Glenn:

And here's the main "room", outside the Fortune Teller's caravan... The path to certain death, according to the prediction...

I also have various dethtraps and the fortune teller drawn...

Oh well...

OK, here is my half-assed entry.

FSi's FUTUROBOTS

While the main link doesn't work yet, you may try to download it here at rghost (because either I am too stupid or shutupload doesn't work for me).

Akatosh

I made a faithful adaption of The Futurological Congress by Stanislaw Lem. Click the cover to download.

(And no, there's really nothing to do. I didn't have time to make any puzzles. Let's call it an eight of an ass?)

/EDIT: This version has more animation, but it was finished very slightly after the deadline.

akatosh improved version (i.e. without a tremendous bug which made the game unbeatable)

Mine is late, owing to me trying to do too much that I hadn't done before. If its disqualified, then thems the breaks, but I just wanted to finish it anyway.

Okay, I had this finsiehd for like one hour, but I was thinking whether it should be a good idea to post it. So it's done within an hour, and it's rather obvious..but anyways if you want it disqualified do so.

Dual, getting a 404 when I click the link, so with no game to review I can't really score it. The following opinion is subject to change if its earth shattering stuff, however.

bicilotti's thing with the triangle - Broadly liked the idea, graphics were weak but interesting implementation of the central puzzle. Would have helped if I could have referenced the note in the beginning again after reading it in the intro.

akatosh's Futurological Chronicles - Um, hm. I don't know anything about the book so... I guess its accurate? Or not, and that was the point? Its, um... very emoticon-ish.

fsi's Futurobots - Is it possible to win this? I'm pretty sure I've gotten every possible pixel on the floor red, and got a score of 1000 before accidentally breaking it by hitting tab. anyway, like the idea, music's cool.

kweepa's Valet - I gather I'm not supposed to die at the end, and as such don't know how I'm supposed to win this. nevertheless, like the art, the camera-puzzle, and I'm sure the part of the game that I cant work out that allows me to survive reactivating the robot is pretty nice too, whatever it is.

Vote kweepa.

mätzyboy: Shame you couldn't get finished on time. I like what you had done so far.

FSi's FUTUROBOTS: A nice bit of scripting and nice animations for the people running and being crushed.

Akatosh's Futurological Congress: Some interesting and amusing dialog as usual! Lovely animation of a walking emoticon. Are you saying that in the future people will be reduced to emoticons? It's either prescient or crazy!

bicilotti's Futurist Picture: Bonus points for choosing Futurism! I must be old but I couldn't read the flashed message and it wouldn't repeat it, so I couldn't get any further. Nice animation of the eye opening.

magma42's Future Ho: Very complete game! Impressive to have an intro and an outro, and a lot of responses to actions. Entertaining too, if a little hard to follow (what happened?). Unfortunately it's not really an hour game.

dual's (what else?) HHGTTG game: I also couldn't download it.

My vote goes to bici!

magma:
Unless you downloaded my game in the 10 minutes I had the unwinnable version up there, it should be possible to win.
Spoiler

You just need to look at everything (panel, bedistors) before interacting.

No, it's unbeatable. Couldn't script that in time.  :'(

Sorry I left early last night, but I had to go :(

Great entries though, every one of them ;D

FSi - Great graphics and scripting :D Really nice for an hourgame. No reward for painting the whole floor is the only bad part.

Kweepa - Really quite a great game! Puzzles and interactions, this game has a lot going for it! However after fixing the robot nothing happened really, which is sad because the rest was awesome!

Akatosh - Interesting graphics, sadly not a lot to do.

Bici - Very interesting! The first puzzle was really nice. Simple, yet rewarding. The second one you had to replay the game a couple of times to get. But really a great game!

Magma - This was a bit late, but it's still absolutely remarkable for a game made in such a small amount of time!
Spoiler
I didn't get a good look at the man in the end, but I have a pretty good idea of who it was ;) (It is him right?)

As the host I'm not going to disqualify you for a late entry, but when people vote they will probably take that into consideration.

Dualy - The link doesn't work...

My vote goes to bici

Oops. I meant to add a QuitGame(0); there. Please imagine the game ends suddenly and irritatingly with a windows "clunk" sound effect.
