They we're all pretty cool it made my decission pretty hard.
But my VOTE goes to: PyroMonkey
P.S:
I loved your Sam, Rharpe :)

Andail

Thanks for your contributions :)

Overall, I'm impressed by the acting skills displayed, but less impressed by the recording quality. Too many background sounds, breath-noises and generally low volume sometimes ruined otherwise excellent readings.

Well, this was the first round, and people are training. Also, the transcription was a very hard one, considering many people will have the movie actors in mind when reading it. Hopefully the winner of this round will pick a better text :)

Also, where was Cameron? LGM? I would like to see more people who deal with recording on regular basis.

Two tips for next round:
* Avoid disturbances at all cost - retake and retake until the recording is crisp clean. It sucks to listen to a great voice when you get these explosions every time they read out "p" or "t", or hear some distant diffuse noise.
Either use a breath filter (a piece of cloth or whatever in front of the mike) or just speak beside/over it.
* Speak up! Not only will people hear you better (naturally), your voice will automatically gain more tone and warmth, more nuances, more resonance.

Well, my vote would go to Rharpe, even though he sounded a bit too self-conscious (not natural enough) at times, and read a bit too slow.
I can honestly say that I enjoyed listening to all of you, very well done :)

Tuomas

Rharpe, I thought I cought a spite of that southern state accent there ;) Kansas eh...

Myself I used ACID Pro 4,0 program and my Philips singing mike, but recording as loud as I could without making the voice break, and then converting it out as loud as possible again, I still couldn't make it louder... these have always been difficult, you know. Too quiet and then a little hiss here and there will make the voice break.

Whatsoever, if I was to vote, I'd place my on PyroMonkey. As far as I recall he was the best... after me of course!!!

Haddas

I enjoyed them all, but I have to vote for Yakspit. for some reason it appealed to me. nevermind the quality.

Andail: thanks for picking me! I am very self-conscious, (I guess I wasn't able to hide it.) Oh well, like I said, it's my first voice-over entry I've ever done.

Tuomas: I'm not from Kansas, but I've lived there long enough to aquire a southern note. :)

Mozesh: Thanks for commenting on my Sam voice. I was aiming for a doofus tone.

Yakspit: Thanks for your vote as well! I wish I could have made a greater distinction between Boromir and Sam's voices... they seemed too close in my opinion, (same with Aragorn and Frodo.)

Everyone: I'll try to come up with something unique for the next Voice acting competition.
"Hail to the king, baby!"
