What is the Photoshoppin' Contest?

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved. Also you can check out the earlier Photoshop contests in this forum.

Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, Gimp or any other ~equally good programs can be used.

This week:
Makin' Comix
(Thanks to SSH for the idea!)

You must make a 4 pane comic strip which contains the following dialog options:

1) "Wow, that's a large turtle you've got there!"
2) "It's all about economics."
3) "Start a war?Ã,  Who do you think I am, George Bush?"
4) "You know what they say, it's all in the hips."
5) "Eek, my underwear is on backwards!"
6) "It had to come to an end sometime ..."

Parameters
- 4 panes can be any style (4 up, 2x2, 4 across, 3 little 1 big, etc)
- each pane must contain at least 1 piece of dialog
- each pane must contain some photoshoppin' and not just a cut 'n paste image
- all 6 dialog options must be used
- dialog options can be captions, speech, thoughts, etc. (they don't have to be only speech bubbles)
- comic strip must contain at least 1 human, and one animal (doesn't have to be a turtle)

This contest will be judged more on creativity than photshopping technique (though that'll be considered too!).Ã,  It's more about using the dialog and your imagination!

Good luck and have fun!

"which contains the following dialog options"

it has to contain all of them?

(never mind, i didn't read the whole thing - that's a bit oppressive)

"what the say"

what they say?

"underware"

underwear?

now it's not my intention to cause any offence but i'm gonna say it anyway, i think this photoshop idea sucks, how can people be creative when you're telling them what to do?
surely something revolving around christmas would have been better and probably generated more entries, perhaps something like "reasons santa claus won't be delivering presents this year..." or- ah what's the point, nobody's going to listen to me anyway, yes yes yes i know i could have set the "rules" if i had entered and won the last competition, but really...
anyway, that's just how i feel, it'll probably turn out to be the best photoshop competition ever or something...

Yes it has, the contest rules say it! Read the whole rules before asking
You know what they say... no... wait... you don't. What a shame.

If many of you feel the way Boyd feels, please let me know.  I don't mind changing the topic.

Boyd was a bit harsh in his criticism, but does have a point.Ã,  These rules do seem very... restrictive.Ã,  Feels more like a "comic caption contest in reverse" than a photoshopping event.  An alternative could be to make a it one panel picture, with one of those phrases as inspiration.

Nacho

Boyd should be the worst diplomat ever, but IMO, in the way this photoshop has been raised I just couldn't know where to start with... Ã, O_O

Maybe I have a problem with my creativity, who knows! Ã, :)
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Ali

Let's give this another try, maybe Darth can come up with a more festive topic...
