Sorry but I was so busy....

FIREWORKS

Nothing simpler: a fireworks module.

Bonus Points for:

  • explosion that "leave a message in the sky"
  • parameters tuning
I hope it will be not too easy and not too difficult.
Good work and good luck!

Here are the rules:
1. Must be open-source. We can hardly inspect your coding if we can't see it.
2. Must contain instructions for how to add to an existing game; this will obviously be easier if the scripting is done as a module.
3. The use of other plugins is allowed.
4. Must provide sample game using your code.
5. Team efforts are allowed, and you're probably expected to get help for sprites, etc from elsewhere.
6. As far as possible, entries will be judged on their scripting and gameplay rather than GFX, SFX, music, etc.
7. Winner will be decided by 1 week of voting at the end.

Is this not a bit too similar to the Particle System topic from a couple of months ago? (Unless I've misunderstood you, of course...)
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

DoorKnobHandle

And I already posted this tutorial on the FoY-forum on how to do exactly this by using a particle system. The final product of the tutorial is pretty similar to my previous entry to the coding competition on particle systems, that Ashen linked to.

Besh

I haven't any other ideas.
If you don't like it and have some cool idea please post it, we can arrange a  new topic.

Actually due to the slow activity and participation of a narrow group of members it's questionable whether we shall still keep the coding contests (which is being considered).

Anyway, I had done something similar last year already (which was just a test and was not released to public), and this is not an entry for obvious reasons (it's not a module, it used AGS V2.62 which didn't support modules anyway).

What do you think about a RACE GAME? ???

If someone is interested we can continue otherwise we should close this competition.

Suggestions, ideas ect. ect. are welcome.

Is this really the last of this competition, or is it being closed temporarly like the Coloring Ball?

Gilbert

Yes, and yes.

These activities will be the last round and be closed for now, there're no guarantee whether they'll be revived once again later or not, there're just chances, if it's worth doing so.
