Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro or any other ~equally good programs can be used.

Allright.. We are starting up a new enhanced Photoshop Phriday. And the first assignment will be fairly easy. But only this time doods..

So what are we supposed to do, you say. Well, since this one is the first in a long time that we actually will do some serious Photoshoppin, you will be following this tutorial:

Modern ruins
You are to come up with your own picture with the techniques shown in the tutorial. Ofcourse you can compose your picture with your own techniques if you like!

The pics you posted are not working. But I have a complaint. I have been in a few photoshop phridays, even won one once. But I used ms paint. Your topic is a task that only those with the cream of the crop graphics programs can do. In the rules it says you can use any program. I dont see burn, layers, etc etc in every program.

That's because they're in your cache since you've viewed them at worth1000 already. The images worked for me after I went to the URL you linked to. They seem to have disabled hotlinking.

At the first time I saw the pictures, there is just two "x"s. When I right click both of them and then click "Show Picture", they work. Wierd.

Well, here's my quick attempt.


I didn't exactly follow tocath's (great) tutorial but I have read it in the past. I've also never entered any of the modern ruins contests at Worth. I do think, however, that they are one of the hardest contests over there, so I think describing this as "fairly easy" isn't really accurate.

Oh I check in here every now and then. Between raising kids (and making more) and hanging around at beforementioned Worth1000, I don't have much time for other important things, such as finishing any of the 10+ adventure games I've started to make over the years

And i guess you won.
Seems that noone else is capable of doing these pretty easy(imo) tasks.
You decide. Keep trying to make this an actual competition, or just a place to cut and paste stuff in one minute?

This was a valiant attempt to raise the stakes Synthetique, but you've got to remember that the contest must be fun for people of all levels of ability.

Then again the last one I hosted only had 3 entries, so what do I know?

I suppose this is a perfect time to suggest we make PPs be monthtly instead of weekly. There'll be more entries because of the longer window plus people will hopefully not be too bored to make entries like it seems they are now.
